The panels sit on top of the heater channel, not on the floor. If you find that your feet hit the inner fender wells, then you might notice the panels take some of that room. I’m 6 foot tall and wear a size 11 shoe and I don’t notice them at all.

Does it fit if I have a bamboo shelf?
@Sam_Mebane Жыл бұрын
I've never tried, but it might be possible. I have seen Beetles with a "garage made" shelf (that someone had made for bulk sale) under the dash. From what I remember, the tray was made using a bamboo tray as a template and it fit with speaker kick panels.

Jeez Sam, aren't you done with that Beetle yet? :D Seriously, that's a nice tidy install. Almost makes me want to put a sound system in mine.

Quality takes time! Well that, and filming it all and producing the videos around a work schedule adds time too!

What do you do with the screw that protrudes through under the wheel well? It looks like that's where at least one screw will go through.
@Sam_Mebane2 жыл бұрын
Nothing, it doesn't come close to anything in the wheel well.
@forestchicken33022 жыл бұрын
@@Sam_Mebane ok thanks for the answer. The far back one looked like it might go through. If it did I suppose I would just coat the wheel well end of it in a truck bed liner or paint.
@Sam_Mebane2 жыл бұрын
@@forestchicken3302 It does, yes. Coating it with paint, undercoating, a dab of silicone, anything of the sorts wouldn't hurt a thing.

Any recommendations for installing kick panels in a 79 super bug what carpet kit would be best for this?
@Sam_Mebane2 жыл бұрын
There aren't any "special" carpet kits to use with speaker kick panels. It's just a matter of working the carpet to cover the kick panel, or order bulk yardage to cover it.
@forestchicken33022 жыл бұрын
@@Sam_Mebane thanks, I just ordered the premium kit from j bugs. Guy on the phone says it will fit over panels. So hopefully it will work.

Excuse me, I have a different question if you don't mind. I have a 72's 1302-S with a Solex 34 PICT-3. It's difficult to start the engine and I believe it's because a lack of fuel into the carb. The fuel filter in the fuel line gets empty too. Today I had a lot of fuel smell and it was that the carburetor was covered in fuel coming from the top cover it has. What do you think the problem can be?
@Sam_Mebane3 жыл бұрын
The carburetor is most likely flooded with too much fuel. Press the fuel pedal to the floor and try to start the engine. The open throttle will help clear the excess fuel from the engine.
@FernandoelChachi3 жыл бұрын
@@Sam_Mebane Don't you believe that I can have a problem with the carburetor's floater?
@Sam_Mebane3 жыл бұрын
@@FernandoelChachi There could be a problem with the float, yes. It could also be too much fuel pressure, a stuck float valve as well as a few other issues. My apologies, that wasn't the original question.
@FernandoelChachi3 жыл бұрын
@@Sam_Mebane Oh yes. I'll have to open the carb and take a look to the valve and the float. To me, the problem is there. It can't be that the fuel filter in the fuel line gets empty and that it's so difficult to start the engine after a while. And now the carb covered in gas... Thanks a lot for your help.
