Hi, Thats a 3c2 to be precise if you dont know. The tractor data plate should be in the cab alongside the drivers seat if I'm right. 3c3 its on the left side of the chassis behind where the loader arm ram is. If you take the engine number it will tell you if its a Nuffield tractor skid and has a 38DT engine or a leyland 4/98 motor (which I think is 3c3 onwards). I think its the nuffield, which although I think they share some parts with the 4/98 are a different engine. There's a lot of I think's because Ive not found any authoritive data when things changed but I have both a 3c3 and a 3c2 of similar vintage parked in my yard right now (Ive owned the 3c3 for 10+ years now) and I've been able to size up the differences between the two. The 3c2 is a recent purchase but has suffered a rollover incident and has wrecked the cab along with other parts in it & is a breaker/donor to fix my 3c3 which is a shame as the cab was one of the few unrotten ones Ive seen but I'll use it as repair sections to sort the grot out on my 3c3 now its ruined. Get yourself on classic machinery network, they have the skid/engine manuals for it in the downloads section.

@@pepearg4900 I still use my 3c3 also! Today I have the different engine from the 3C2 in him, but he shakes more as the older (38DT) engine is unbalanced. So I need to rebuild the original 4.98 engine and return it to original. If you go the web site in my comment, you'll find a manual for your machine in the download section for free, & a manual for the injection pump also. Its useful to have.

Can drive them on 3 wheels.the notch between axle and body put a lump hammer in. Used to do it years ago

Hi, BK you clearly have brilliant knowledge of the older JCB, I have a 70s D2, We have taken out the clutch and the rest, however, we can't seem to get the flywheel clear of the housing Would you know if we can take the flywheel out of the housing without removing or dropping the gearbox? We have pulled our guts out trying to lift it from above with a rope but it just won't slip past.

Do you have a diagram of the fuel lines? I've got one 3C mk3 and the fuel lines are a mess of connections and unions, can you help me out with those? It was easy to get the new lift pump?

they don't pump hard, I've had 3 of these.. they never show any pressure on the primer.. not sure if this helps.... I'm commenting as I'm watching

oh I so wish you had shown us poping the clutch. I cant get my 3C to shift into gear, she has been standing for a year, so fear I must copy your clutch job, not looking forward to that.

No, BMC/Leyland engine. Same as a 384.

It looks in very good condition ide say it was ever hacked or just parked those leyland Nutfield engines were tough not like today's Christmas light dashboard crap
