I've got the JCB 86C-2 on hire for some "mucking about" on a farm next week and this has been an excellent little insight into the newer -2 and a great help to me. Thanks Mucker!

Hi Kurt. Loved the HY-MAC reference. The JCB dealer here in Orlando recently changed hands again. I visited their yard earlier in the week, walked around and no one bothered to come out of the office to see if I was a potential customer! Three fitters working in the yard seemed to be miserable and it looked more like Ritchie Brothers Auction with broken down machines everywhere. JCB deserve better representation in my opinion, especially as we are only five hours from their Savannah Georgia southern HQ. As you say the 86C looks to be a versatile machine and the upgrades to the 86C-2 adds to its efficiency. Well built by the looks of it. 🏴🇺🇸

Personally I think JCB North America are a piss poor set up. Some dealers are brilliant but many seem to have little back up from Savannah.

Nice smart, well designed machine that. I like how they have thought about the user, opening the bonnet to fuel up you can check your levels and filters etc at a quick glance.

Yes very well thought out and lots of consideration for the operator

Thanks for the info in this video. I’ve been wondering how they had got round no longer having the boom swing on a foot pedal. I currently run a 86c-1 TAB which has two pedals on the floor, one of boom swing and the other for the TAB. I also use both Aux rollers on the sticks for a NOX. So that bit of info about the proportional rollers in the front of the sticks is welcome news! And should make the whole operation easier, especially the TAB operation, as those -1 pedals are not the most comfortable to operate. Only thing that puts me off is the DPF......price of progress I suppose. Keep up the good work👍

Great review of JCB👍in last few years I demo farm equipment, tractors n earthmoving machinery, you get surprise on how better some of machinery is improved but I have had a couple of machinery I seen that I wouldn’t upgrade n not because fancy electrics but design layout.

Hate those wrist supports prefer full adjustable arm rests, she seemed a bit loud in the cab but hard to tell with the window open.

Bloody Go-pro mic is shyte - it's nice enough in the cab, quieter than a lot of the competition and certainly more room.

Looks a good machine we still use our 1988 3cx on the farm and if we are draining we get a cat 308 hire from local company which is a good machine but have always liked jcb even though the 8080 looked a bit of a toy(hymac or spade would take hymac even with no windows)

Interesting video mate. My boss has about 8 jcb 85z's that are getting on in hours so he'll be replacing them soon. He's been loyal to jcb for 45 years so I'll probably get a chance to try out these newer models. I normally drive a 3CX but occasionally I get sent out on an 8t. We never really had any big issues with the old ones besides the head gaskets go at about 2500hours. Have they sorted out the over sensitive dozer blade control and the lack of dipper ram cushion? That's one thing that gets on my nerves, the dipper arm doesn't come in close enough for my liking and it stops short with a bang. I know a good operator shouldn't be using the full stroke of any of the rams but its easy to forget when you jump into a jcb from something else.
@torquingpoint50574 жыл бұрын
Bucket comes in so can clean up against blade easily, dozer control is much smoother, overall just seems more controllable in each direction.

I don’t want to sound like I am being really negative but jcb 360 are very unrealiable and not a patch on the competitors of other manufacturers

Is there any particular reason why a lot of plant machinery uses a green flashing light instead of the usual orange?.
@torquingpoint50574 жыл бұрын
It's to show you have your safety belt on. There is still an orange flashing light on the cab.

My friend Lord Muck, interesting machine, and a good review of same. A question came to mind while you were digging. Is there any danger of running into unexploded ordnance from WW2 when excavating in the UK? Best regards from Indiana, USA.
@LordMuck4 жыл бұрын
Yes Bill, especially if working on projects in the large cities. However, for obvious reasons the risk is greater over in mainland Europe, especially Germany.

@torquingpoint50574 жыл бұрын
It does !
@pureneglect47024 жыл бұрын
Just asked someone about it from Carnaby and son, jcb restored their old backhoe earlier this year, asked if he'd seen it before. Turns out when they replaced some of their old erf's the driver loved his old erf that much he said wouldn't anything unless it said erf on it. So jcb pulled the daf logos of and put them ones on just for him
@LordMuck4 жыл бұрын
@@pureneglect4702 that's partially true - it was done as a joke between the driver, fleet manager and Lord Bamford himself as they swore they would only run British ! (Driver himself told me 😉)
