Check the housings where the sealing ring end of the shaft goes in, very common for the housing to chew out and groove it, then you will loose pressure there, have done a few now where the housing have had to be replaced/repaired
@johnlockwood50985 жыл бұрын
Hi love to watch you work . Check the housing where the oil slip rings run these transmission had a problem wearing the housing then they louse the seal on the slip rings this can then engage both clutches on the shaft causing the weakest clutch to fail or as I have seen the transmission to lock up as you had in extreme cases it will rip the transmission apart. We the housing bored and a wear sleeve pressed in

John Lockwood this is when an air test shows up the problem. Seeing pressure on two pistons at the same time indicates a worn seal or bore.

Im working on a Massey Ferguson 50A with an instant reverse transmission that has a clutch pack as well and it pretty foreign to me. I can’t drive it forward but it kicks into reverse pretty well. I know I was missing one of the output shaft piston seals that slides into the input shaft, but I’m not sure if that would kill my ability to drive forward and I want to make sure I look over all possible causes before I put it all back together. I have new clutch discs and plates in both packs and a new pump. Linkage on the pedals appears to be solid as well. Can you tell me what these little steel ring seals function as and if it can be my main culprit here? Also, is there a way to test the operation of the clutch pack assembly through an air test?

If all of the friction material is gone, perhaps the piston is travelling further than it should and losing its seal on a groove in the shaft or housing? Perhaps a built in protection to prevent clamping a clutch with no friction left and setting the transmission on fire.

Being a relatively new subscriber, I have been bingeing on old videos. Love your work ethic and you ability to care for your customers. You do have three problems though. One: Screw that damn trolls and snowflakes. Who gives a damn what they think? They can't hold a candle to your abilities and knowledge. Don't even acknowledge the idiot comments or they will continue to harass. Two: Your mouth overrides your brain sometimes. What is not helpful to the youth wanting to emulate you and learn from you should not include obscenity or profanity. Angry words will not fix problems. Three: You work alone most of the time and could get seriously hurt with no one around to dial 911. Lifting heavy items scares me when you don't use the crane. You get really creative some times and that is great. I want to see years of videos from you (if I live that long), strong and healthy. Other than the above you do great work for a reasonable fee in near record time. Stay healthy and God bless the work you do for others. Thanks for sharing.
