18-20 tonne of straw on that trailer..? All up about 25-26 Tonne with trailer&dolly i'm guessing. Nice vid!

Hi George another great video would ye think of using a 2 axel dolly for the trailer. Be more stable ?
@canvids18 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing Derek. I used to be a trucker and that is a lot of weight on one steer dolly.

Love your work but can I ask why edge all 3 bales ?
@MrFakit4 жыл бұрын
Well I know nothing about baling but I'd say for loading purposes?
@andrewtopp72474 жыл бұрын
MrFakit haha Yrh I get that but you can edge your bottom bales and then put 3 on top the normal way so you can get 36 bales on , but there’s more then 1 way to skin a can I suppose

why do you have a front press on?
@ashboy2258 жыл бұрын
Weight to keep front down
@willhallam18 жыл бұрын
+Farmer Ash why have a press rather than a weight and that tractor doesn't really need a. Weight to pull the trailer as it is an articulated trailer
@ashboy2258 жыл бұрын
Will Hallam Its cheaper if you has 1 item which does multiple tasks rather than 2 things... I suspect he kept it on because its easier

To flatten the swath down when he is bailing
@davidrowley82517 жыл бұрын
Will Hallam Regardless of weight transfer from the trailer/dolly tongue, more weight on the front of the tractor gives more traction to the front tires and delivers more drawbar pull. Also, some of the trailers may not have dollys, and the counterweight would be necessary. If that tractor was pulling a big baler, the wheels might be needed to flatten a tall windrow and keep it from getting balled up under the tractor.

Why are the bales stacked on their side? Nice load.
@joshverburg85768 жыл бұрын
To prevent twine from rotting.
@onelonleyfarmer8 жыл бұрын
i do not think twine rot is a problem.. its all plastic twine on LSB..
@CATGVO8 жыл бұрын
That's what I thought too, plastic twine won't rot. I have never even seen something else then plastic twine on big bales. At my work we process every year about 15000 tons of straw. Sometimes the straw bales from the United Kingdom are turned on the side, but I never know why.

+CATGVO hesstons turned over like that are slightly lower than they would be stacked three high they way they come out of the baler
@CATGVO7 жыл бұрын
Yea you are right I tipt a few over and restacked them, it's about 1,5 to 2 inch each bale (atleast at the rapeseed bales we had).
