I love Futaba's Palace. Love Kamoshida(as a villain). Madarame is alright and Kaneshiro is okay. But this is the game showing us that having a Palace isn't inherently evil. The person who's heart we're trying to change isn't some over the top mustache twirling bad guy. But a hurt girl who has been manipulated and lied to over the years. We slowly uncover those secrets and show her the truth. And rather than ripping a mask off, she simply embraces her shadow and awakens to her Persona differently. This Palace isn't about taking someone down. But rather picking someone back up

I’ve watched quite a few people play through P5. I have to say your play through is by far the most enjoyable I’ve seen. Most just go “time to slam through this game for the viewers” without taking time to actually experience it. Watching you get excited about Akechi and Yoshizowa, or actually empathize with Futaba absolutely makes this my favorite play through on the site. As someone who lost a parent to suicide in my teens the entire Futaba arc was just so much more than just a story beat to me. Yet so many treat it as a nuisance. Futaba, her palace, the themes behind it, and theme (called ‘The Days When My Mother Was There’) all became my favorite part of the game. It was cathartic seeing my pain visualized in such an honest and genuine way. All in all. Thank you for your genuinely empathetic take of this arc. It’s nice to see my feelings validated about the palace and her story. (Side note. I’ve also never seen someone play so completely competent when getting through it. Take my Sub. Hope to see you play P3 Reload some time after you finish 5! And please please please, no spoilers but you HAVE to max your rank with the school counselor for what is regarded as the best section of the game. So please prioritize your counseling)
@conspiracypanda12008 ай бұрын
I've also lost a parent, to the actions of a reckless and high idiot behind a wheel though, not his own fault. I understand that's different from your own situation, but I can empathise on a basic level. Futaba's Palace is an amazing dive into loss, grief and the misprocessing of emotions. This channel is one of the few outside of game/character essay channels that really _gets_ that, and _feels_ every step of her struggle and journey. Every twist and turn as the narrative unfolds itself is acknowledged and considered, which is a real treat and more than what many streamers give this wonderful part of the game. Plus, seeing Futaba reach out for help and pull herself from the depths to become stronger (but not entirely 'fixed', as seen in her Confidant) is inspiring. It's so poignant, in fact, that when I showed some of the gameplay of this palace to my own Mum she thought I was making a cry for help :/ That was kind of an awkward conversation to muddle through...
@LigayasJoys8 ай бұрын
You've got to be kidding. Far and away Futaba's palace has been a favourite across both sides of the Pacific, just do a casual scroll of KZbin. Loving your playthrough so far! P5R is one of my favorite games of all time and there's nothing more fun to me than watching someone new experience it for the first time! Looking forward to the next one! ALSO! Re: Futaba's palace theme song, my favorite thing about it, and the reason I think it hits so hard, is because of the funky guitar in it. Up until this point in the game, that guitar has been used for moments that are supposed to be sad or melancholy, so putting it in this song fits perfectly.

Believe it or not. 2 playthroughts before that, I've never paid attention to the "jellyfish monster" in the puzzle. 3 complete playthroughts (2 vanilla and 1 Royal) and only JC make me check that thing!!!!

Love watching you go thru Persona 5! Excited to see you continue

The Eggman base thing is so accurate. I grew up with SA2 as a huge part of my childhood. Outside of these two scenarios I think Digimon is the only other example I can think of for techy Egyptian vibes

Dawg this arc was the first time i got to join the stream and i had a great time staying up with y’all to experience maybe one of the best story arcs created. It shows how serious and emotional this story can be and how well it’s told through character development. It goes without saying but I’m truly looking forward to seeing you continue the game with all the incredible story it has to offer.

I think the right term you're looking for is "divisive." You know, like The Last of Us: Part 2 levels of divisive. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an overexaggeration, but you get the idea.

I feel JC is earnest and appreciative enough of the game to be one of the people that enjoy it a lot. I mean most people kinda hate Makoto during the third arc for being rude, while JC was VERY ln Makoto's side because he was empathetic of her. So if someone's gonna have a positive opinion on The Divisive Arc, it'd be him.

@friendbreakfast Plus, Makoto barely has any real personal connection to Kaneshiro.

So far my favorite playthrough of this game! Love how you actually sit and think about the deeper themes and story beats. Alot of sincerity there. Keep it up till the end! Been around since the bo3 days and glad to see you still kicking.

Its so cool to see you play through p5r in 2024, keep up the good work JC! Also, I'm pretty sure Futaba's awakening is supposed to be a callback to persona 4, where personas were obtained by party members accepting their own shadows after their shadow's boss fight due to the character's initial rejection of the truth, in which the shadow would transform into their main persona once accepted, just like Futaba's does. It's a neat callback for sure, you should definitely stream P4G if you enjoy the rest of what persona has to offer :)

Futaba's palace gave off so much Persona 4 vibes, that's why this is a top 3 for me. Can't wait for Janurary! Just go to your counseling all the time!

The 4th Palace Theme-“The Days When My Mother Was There”-the requiem that was playing in Futaba’s head and heart for 2 years-never fails to tear me up…🥺

Nooooo! I'm in the middle of a playthrough (40hrs in) and I was watching your videos along going into the game when finishing an Arc... I'm a bit sad that this will be the last time I'll be able to do it since I caught up with the content... I really enjoy your reactions to how the game is going! The little jumps of surprise are priceless every time X) ! I'll happily watch the next Video when that comes out!

The algorithm dropped me the first video of this playthrough today and I have caught up all in one sitting at like 2 am and after having done 3 different playthroughs I have to say that watching up until now has been the closest thing I have experienced to playing it again for the first time and actually gave me some new perspectives on things that happen down the line that I was a bit confounded by (I don't think that's a spoiler, but my bad if it is). Anyway, thanks for taking me on this ride once more in a way that I didn't expect I could. And massive props to the editor; their work has been phenomenal
