Honestly this is a great contrast of personalities and styles, age is also a huge factor. The aesthetics in the room add to this unique feeling that traditional hip hop culture will live forever. Lil Pump is an embodiment of the social media/instant gratification culture we currently live in. It’s over saturation, look at his outfit. Consumerism. Commercialism. Not his fault, he’s a product of the industry. His only mistake was choosing not to educate himself. Pumps story of instant fame and success contrasts with Coles essence that remains true to the roots of hip hop - it was never about being a drugged out, consumer but a creator driven by experience and vision. I hope Pump rewatches this one day and thinks about the exchange here.
@crimson11113 жыл бұрын
Very good and thoughtful comment bro. Are you a writer?
@strawberrytease3 жыл бұрын
My exact thoughts! I was looking through the comments to see if anyone noticed the extent of the cultural differences, and maybe its because I still have yet to dismantle my bias/prejudice towards what Lil Pump represents, but as a teen myself its a little disappointing to try and see the intellectual Cole keeps saying he can be, and quite frankly I don't see it haha. Cole has a passion for music and goals and aspirations and Lil Pump just kinda drifts on by riding on the clout, its pure luck for him..

You’re naive to think “Lil Pump” is that mentally fucked. He’s trying to sound cool. Anyone with a brain can see this this dude is obviously intelligent enough to get as much attention as he had. At one point he was the biggest artist out. I don’t even like his music, nor am I standing up for him I’m just pointing out the obvious.
@rage45593 жыл бұрын

When I heard 1985 for the first time I realized Jermaine wasn’t sending shots at Lil Pump or 6ix9ine. He actually just wanted them to realize what kind of impact they have. The entire KOD album is based on what people expects from you to get what you want. They wanna see you pop pills and destroy yourself to entertain them. The ATM video is another example how money addicted the scene is.
