I honestly can't believe that you hit the stock one with a hammer and didn't hit your replacement skid. I mean, it was a full setup in the beginning that implied you would, and you even referenced the hammer at the end. Although, I am sure that if it was hit in the same general location as the stock one, there would be some bending of those vents.

Does this work with plastic bumpers? You reused bolts that mine are clips

They are not designed to work with the plastic bumpers, no.
