Good review, you covered the negative with the positive! Did you mention fuel economy? YES I personally always felt these were too much a utility tractor but you have convinced and showed me, with your videos, it's an all-around rig.

For the most part it’s kinda a do all lol I like to of chopped with it this year to see how it did but corn isn’t much here this year due to drought

The 50 and 55 series John Deere tractors were among the best built. Simple, strong and reliable.

I wonder if some cab insulation on the dash and in the center of the floor, the stuff with one sticky side, would help with temperature and noise. Seems like a good tractor!
@kswaynes75695 жыл бұрын
Yes, cab insulation over that cowling and some floor insulation from an automobile covered with a rubber mat over the transmission. Use a can of spray adhesive to keep stuff in place.
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure there is supposed to be cab insulation over the cowling I’ve seen them in cab kits before and the floor idk what to do about it other than a piece of rubber mat kinda like the newer tractors overall a nice tractor thanks for watching 👍👍

Guess we will hear your thoughts this winter or next spring on how well it starts in the cold? Might change the starter with an after market high torque starter, thats what I put on my 6400 when the factory starter went out. Starts much better now

I have an open station 2755 2 wheel drive heavy duty model with cast iron wheels and big pump for a loader, but I don’t have one on it , , been the best tractor i have ever owned , will do anything my 1972 4020 will ! On a lot less fuel , And starts easy in winter, I plug it up if I expect to use it in winter but if i have to use it unexpectedly it has never failed to start !

That's a clean 2750! Push button 4x4 is really nice.. totally jealous! I'm glad it's working out for you. Hopefully you can fix that stiff clutch petal. My David Brown was like that and it worked my bad knee pretty bad after while.

Hey do you find this tractor rides better than your 6410 did? I have a 6405 and find it rides rough compared to a 2550 I have. Not sure if its the tires or the cab forward design on the newer tractor.
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
Yes my 2750 rides better than the 6410 on the road in the field the 6410 did but that’s due to the wider tires but on the road the 2750 is way smoother but at a certain speed it vibrates bad to

I’m looking for a smaller tractor to feed round bales with how would you compare this 4 wheel drive 2750 with an old 4020 with a 148 loader on it? Any recommendations?
@Theblindfarmer4 жыл бұрын
Similar in size similar in power the 2750 has less power a 2wd 4020 with a loader I would not buy I would recommend anything 4 wd that’s under 100hp the 2750 was awesome to feed with last winter and FYi this 2750 is for sale

What loader is on it? The one I’m looking at has the 245. Do you have any experience with this loader?

Great review bud!!! 👍🍻 it will be interesting to see how well will it start in the winter time when it comes.. essential when feeding stock in the snow !!! ❄🤯. Nothing worse than a tractor loader that doesn't start in the cold. It will be interesting see maintenance costs e.g. filters, and components etc compared to the 6410. Great vid!!!🍻🚜

It will be cheaper in some ways and more expensive in others

They start good , I have a open station 1990 2755 I never have to plug up unless I do it to save wear , but it only has 2700 hrs, on it and I live in the southern US.

Sure hope that's a ground battery cable at 6:04, as it's bare conductor as the battery cable covering has split and fallen off bigtime... if it's a "hot" cable it's gonna burn your tractor to the ground when it shorts out... or at least cause you some MAJOR headaches! Better take a look at it and correct the problem! Good luck! OL J R :)
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
The cable you seen there is the push pull cable to the valve bkidy to the loader
@lukestrawwalker5 жыл бұрын
@@Theblindfarmer Oh, ok... jacketed cable?? I gotcha. Knowing that those older Deere's usually had batteries on either side of the tractor connected together to make 12 volts, I thought it was one of those connecting cables. Did you ever put loom over your wiring going down through the door, for the baler or whatever?? If it were me I'd add a high amp fuse to the battery end as well... when insulation rubs through and you get a dead short to ground things tend to glow white hot and then catch fire and burn to the ground... NOT GOOD! OL J R :)
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
I took them off I hated how it looked plus leaving it like that even if it never rubbed through I know me how I am I’d eventually catch it on something and rip it completely off or it will corrode and never work again i’m going to install an actual 12 V plug style lome the 6410 had it’s a cleaner look and safer for the tractor and me
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
More than likely I will have the tractor much longer another year so due to the stiff clutch
@WormHoleFarming5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't sell my 4250 ever. I would sell the farm before I get rid of it. When you go to change the batteries go with one 12 volt. I got a video on changing the battery when I replaced my starter. Much cheaper and more power for the starter.
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
If the clutch wasn’t so hard it be a keeper for sure
@lukestrawwalker5 жыл бұрын
@@Theblindfarmer Not sure about the clutch issue but it may just be how it is... Might not hurt to check the linkage and see if anything is binding or out of whack... They probably use a dual-disk clutch with HD springs, and the rest of the pedal and links weren't designed with enough mechanical advantage to make for a light pedal pressure?? IIRC they use the hydraulic clutches on the bigger tractors this one is probably about as stout a clutch as you'd want before switching to a hydraulic (and probably should have been)?? Just something to consider... Course maybe someone with more experience will get back to you with more information... I don't have a ton of experience on the Deere tractors... Later! OL J R :)
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
I’ve been on other 50 and 55 Series and they had a easy pedal mydads 2355 was easy and Mr Southern 2355 was a stiff peddle

@@Theblindfarmer Interesting... Not sure what the difference is but I'd be curious to know... have you talked to a Deere mechanic? OL J R :)

John Deere liked to put hydraulic hoses behind the clutch so probably the reason your clutch stiff is because you pushing on those hydraulic hoses.
