JD 4020 bad steering valve or motor diagnosis

Thank you! I have been trying to get info on how to diagnose this problem with my 1968 4020, it keeps trying to ditch me going down the road, thankfully it jumps to the right instead of oncoming traffic, but it still stains the shorts every time it happens lol

Valve bypassing ? I would guess..reminds me of truck axle joints or linkage binding..Thanks for showing Theo ✌💪

You are correct Howard it bleeds past the valves, it's a common problem with these. Thank you for watching sir

That is pretty cool....I've never seen that type of steering. Was that common on many models?

Yes this was some of the first hydraulic power steering the series after this had less problems ... thank you for watching sir
