Superb guitar player, and super nice guy. I was at this show and it was phenomenal. Reminded me of seeing Bill Frisell at the OK Hotel in Seattle in 1992. Incredible artist.

Phrasing and tone is very reminiscent of Derek Trucks. Not a criticism and imitation is flattery in this case. Rhythm section is locked in which lets JD fly into the jet stream.

I agree. But this guy takes it to a more psychedelic direction. I'm new to him and find his playing a bit wild and unpredictable which I love. He is all I want to listen to right now and probably for a few days.
