Damn! This sounds as good as Bloomfield, and this bass player has some big balls. He left his ego at home and played a near perfect bass part. My first bass that I was given for my 15th B'day in 1970 is very similar to this one. I still have it and it sounds much better 53 years later, but never sounded like this. Somehow they didn't need an organ player, three horns and three backing vocalists to pull this off. Take not Joe. Less is way more .

How was the stage volume at this gig? I know he likes to run his amps hot and get what he can without pedals. That being the case, it seems like he'd only really need the deluxe reverb cranked up. That'd get him all the sustain and drive he needs with plenty of volume. Depending on how he has those supers setup, that could be obscenely loud.

vaughn6668 if they were really dialed in I think the mic on the camera wouldn't be able to handle it. Hmm. Maybe this filmer has a great mic and it really was loud as fuck because JD is sort of a purist and doesn't really boogie with pedals.

Awesome tone and playing, he forgot to play the most important note...... The silence.It's not always about the notes you play, but the ones you don't. Bit like a book that uses 25000 words to explain the same story as 9000 could. Clusterfuck of beautiful notes.
