Yes, she's correct on that, but the timeframe of an alleged infraction being made, then heading to court and then having a ruling made can stretch for years. In that time, massive corruption can continue to work it's evil. The ATF is case in point. All their "rulings" do indeed get challenged in court, but years pass before they are reined-in for their overreach. Anyone who has been politically/legally interested in government over the last few decades knows this, and I think SHE knows this too. The legal system takes way too long to render justice while evil and corruption can operate freely in that time.

I truly hate being cynical, but it’s almost certain that Vance’s handlers remind him at each stop about salient factoids pertaining to the local populace. This type of name and fact dropping massively boosts the constituency’s trust in and admiration of politicians who use this technique. Vance is probably a fantastic legislator and a great person, but it is highly unlikely that he just spontaneously recalled the details of a local opioid overdose.
