@tward93 He's loading his bucket at maybe 80-90% max (some 95%+ when it's inside cab view). I don't see how he would be able to fill the trucks up with 2 even completely overflowing buckets, so he's still need that 3rd bucket. In fact, even if he did take the time to fill up his bucket to absolute max, he would be wasting more time. He probably could swing a little faster, but what he's doing is very safe, and will keep things moving day after day.

I agree! Where are these "Partial Buckets"?? Do you think that two buckets would fill these truck as much?

Depends what your doing but it uses anywhere from 35 up to 60 liters in very heavy digging.

I know there are a lot of variables on this job site but, as an estimator, I would rather see two full buckets into each truck rather than three partial buckets. More trucks+less time loading=more money!!

@evadvalcourt Just put me in a machine bub and I'll show you everything you want to see. I will say that he is a smooth operator. Other than one lump falling out in the first truck, he didn't bomb any of them.

I agree with the statement about office people on the actual site, I have seen it my whole life. Not all, but most of the guys in the office always have something to say, but the reality is we don't know the whole story. For instance, are the trucks cycling on the job site only or are they pulling up out of the way, rolling the tarp and hitting the road. If they are on the road that would take into account the partial "top off" buckets. Some states are very tough on their weights and the operator maybe trying to keep them legal. Also, it isn't an articulating bucket like a gradall, meaning that when you are working a grade and loading at the same time, there are times you don't have a huge overflowing bucket full. Is he the smoothest I have ever seen... no I have worked with some great operators. But day in day out, the guy is getting it done, and he is not operating in a manner that is detrimental to the equipment like some of the jug heads I have came across, I would hire him.

Fare comments. The trucks are crossing the road but staying inside construction limits. They are way overloaded like this. tarps would not cover the dirt mounded up like this. However these trucks are barely able to dump with this weight, so can not put more in the box.
