These are really pretty, Dess! If you get (or make) the hooks with the bottom loop facing forward, you only use the one large jump ring and don’t have to worry about the backside turning. That’s just what I do when I’m not as happy with the backside. I agree with your encouragement to be preparing. Unsettling times for sure. God bless.

That is a great suggestion. It is more that the earring doesn't face right and it sits weird. That is why. I know they will turn being an earring but to me it just faces wonky. My sister in law brought it to my attention one time that she loved a pair of earrings but they faced weirdly and she didn't wear them because of it. It made me think to always check how the earring hangs. If that makes any sense. hahahah But I think we all have the wonderful creative liberty to all be creative and do as we see fit which is one thing I love love love about jewelry making and hearing from other jewelry makers. So thank you so much for sharing it blesses me to hear other peoples ways of doing things and why. I just love it!

Great video up to the 10:30 mark, thank you. I love how you share with us how your plans change as you start working on pieces. Would it be possible to use a light, plain coloured background to work on? The newspaper background makes it a little hard to see details 🙂
@DezyJewelry Жыл бұрын
Hahaha I am so glad you love seeing the plans change. It has taken me years to get confident enough to show my not so perfect moments! Yes I will try to get something different instead of just newspaper. My table below the newspaper is a mess from resin. Maybe I can go to the dollar store and get a plastic white table cloth. Stuff to think about. Thank you for suggesting it. I really appreciate it!

So glad I found you and your videos. I have been making jewelry with skins and I want to work with resin. I just have a question. Do you use a respirator/gloves/goggles when you work with resin? Thank you again for sharing.
@DezyJewelry4 ай бұрын
Oh yay!!! I am excited for you to start working with Resin. I use a respirator (except when I am filming), clothes I don’t mind ruining or an apron to cover my nice clothes and latex gloves.
@monikalunan74449 ай бұрын
Very beautiful! Could one use UV resin to achieve the same result? I currently only use UV resin. Thanks!
@DezyJewelry9 ай бұрын
Another viewer asked the same thing and tried it and I believe they were successful!! I did tell the person to not color the red so deep or else the light won’t penetrate and it will not cure properly.
@nancyt.pasour7658 Жыл бұрын
On the other side you could put glitter in a small amount of resin and then glitter the back.
@DezyJewelry Жыл бұрын
That is brilliant. I didn’t even think about that!!!
@debrahunotte9685 Жыл бұрын
I really like these. Do you use alcohol 91% to get rid of bubbles. If you do is it straight alcohol
@DezyJewelry Жыл бұрын
yes I use 91% rubbing alcohol. It works so well. Problem with spraying it on before pouring the resin with these earrings is that the resin spreads faster so I wait to spray until after I pour them or I spray the hole area so no bubbles can hide around the hole. if that makes sense?

Can we use 3:1 resin in this ???

@DezyJewelry6 ай бұрын
Make sure you put a plastic container to cover it so dirt or leaves out bugs don’t land on your resin pieces and ruin it. Does that make sense?
@kaykrause446910 ай бұрын
Des, did you know that there is a drying “machine” for resin that you can get from Let’s Resin, so you don’t have to wait so long for the resin to cure? I just saw it in a video. Check it out.

Hello! Do you not use a mask?
@DezyJewelry Жыл бұрын
I think I say it in every video to wear your safety gear including your respirator. And I think I say in every video (though I could miss saying it in one or two videos) I wear a respirator except when I film videos because people can’t hear me. But even behind the scenes of my video I am putting it on.

Hi Dess just love to watch you can you use UV resin to make these
@DezyJewelry Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. So the technique you can do with UV Resin but you can't make the color that dark or deep. The UV light won't be able to penetrate through the dark colored UV Resin and it won't cure/dry properly. You can use less coloring (a lot less) or a different color that is more transparent. Does that make sense?
