Illinois defeats LSU in Baton Rouge 127-100. Source is VHS tape so the quality is not very good.

This Illinois team was one of the most athletic teams in the history of the NCAA

How in the hell did Dale Brown not even make the final four with a team that had Shaq, Stanley Roberts, and Chris Brown!

Didn't make it past the 2nd round. Too much talent maybe??

I remember the night this game was played. I was watching Pitt-Florida on USA Network and the final score from this game popped up and my jaw dropped seeing 127-100. Too bad Stanley Roberts wasn’t playing in this one. Stupid Prop 48 rule.

Considering the talent on this team, LSU COACH was horrible

What a team. As fun as it is to look back i think the pain of this team not winning a national championship when they were clearly the best team in the country is still a raw nerve and 2005 just gave me another! My favorite player? #13

Marcus Liberty and Lowell Hamilton were underrated! This team were 9 - 10 deep with legitimate Div 1 starters!! Unbelievable talent!!

@@claudejackson1555 National high school player of the year overrated??
@claudejackson1555 Жыл бұрын
Marcus come out of high school with a lot of fanfare, but he never lived up to the hype his stock was dropping very quickly and he knew he had to get out of college before too many scouts noticed he still had a little name recognition left so he took the leap, but he would have never developed into much and he didn't, nice guy thou

Sitting out that year hurt Liberty. Prop 48. If they tried that nonsense today in this one & done era they'd be no division 1-A college basketball
@jaleelmuhammad2222 Жыл бұрын
@mongoslade277 , excellent observation. It hurt his development. He didn't get much stronger and lost that continuity. He went to the wrong school. He should've been developed as a 2 / 3. Not a 4 / 5. I'm happy the brother did make it to the NBA and became successful at life!! I used to go to all of his games a King. Doc Liberty 🗽 was Special!!

Unforgettable! Wasn't that super bowl Sunday? Niners vs Bengals? Pretty sure it was. But the Illinois at Indiana game Sunday after noon and it was like a bomb went off in my friends house with about 15 of us watching great memories
