Do love a VXR but suffer from too many issues whereas an ep3 will get you to the moon and back a few times. Go for it! Views will come flooding in

I bought mine standard. now its 1150kg, 250bhp, lowered, brakes, mounts, track tyres, etc... and its completly different. 100x better. i had it 3 years and I still bloody love driving it. a 421 mani, decat, and unsilenced b pipe sounds insane. make sure to get a facelift with a kpro already. and if you get bored of beating turbo cars in your n/a, standard internals can handle 400bhp all day long with a bit of boost!

Swapped my mk7 st for an ep3 and loved it in the summer, far more fun than any other hatch under 15k, only the clio 182 compares. It just depends if you can live with the lack of luxury in the winter, but they've hit the bottom of their depreciation curve so look after one and it's a mighty fine, mighty fun investment.

Think this a good shout for the channel mate, not alot of ep3 channels out there and countless options for modding etc, and with it being an older car it will come with wee problems or make some which can then give you opportunities for more videos actually working on your car. Not to mention the car it's self is cool af. Reckon you should get one lad x

I’m a big Honda enthusiast, just bought my dream car two months back. Fresh import fd2 typeR civic, can’t wait for the good weather so I can enjoy it. . Unreal machine. You won’t regret buying a nice ep3 civic bud. I’d say it would move the channel forward also. Go for it, just make sure you get a good one, so much scrap out there it’s scary. Watch out for worn synchros Smoke on the magic RPM And of course rust, get under it and make sure it’s solid. Look forward to see if you get one bought 😎

These are good cars a close friend of mine had a uk spec one many years ago, there were some real fine fwd chassis’s to emerge from this era of hatch/coupe such as the mk1 focus,integra, civic type r’s and celica they were so neutral and balanced on the limit it’s a real shame most cars weren’t turbo’d or supercharged from factory as they need driving very hard to extract their full potential and are still quite low on torque output. Turbo’s were the stuff of dreams for us back then, the hot hatch’s of today are so well sorted now, really are the best of both worlds! Seems a move away from forced induction could prove difficult to improve on power figures as easily as with your current vxr though! Saying that a ballistic turbo’d dsg hatch I’d argue is quite soulless in comparison to an N/A manual type r I suppose!🙄😂 Loving the channel btw!

I have a UK ep3 and I'm in Spain 😂 did a dyno test on it a few weeks ago and it gave a bit over 200bhp with 120+ miles on it. These cars really stand a beating and are lots of fun. I can imagine the jdm must be much better.

Been a lurker on your channel, not for the VXR but because I enjoy watching someone that genuinely enjoys all cars and you have a decent eye for detail on aesthetic modding. You shouldn't lose subscribers just because you fobbed the VXR off, there is only so much you can do with the VXR and then where does that take you and your channel?. The Jap scene is huge and for someone passionate about modding then the world is your oyster with an R, Forget your carpark meets you would have whole weekend Jap meets a couple of times a year (Japfest etc) I miss the days of meeting up with forum members and just ragging it up in one huge convoy of Jap cars on the way to Japfest, decent amount of footage there lad ;). Ignore the "not fast on straights" comments, people underestimate the potential of NA Hondas, You suited that ep3 and you would suit the Honda scene, honestly you won't look back, Also if you're up north area you have the likes of Paul at TDI North and Stevie at Grinspeed, both legends and a must go to for Honda owners

EP3 all day!!! My brother has a VXR Astra before that he had an EP3, 1yr later I decide to get an EP3 ( This was 3 yrs ago)... cut a story short, my brother now hates me lol... His car loves going to the garage for repairs whereas my EP3 can’t stand the sight of a garage. He now has a second hand finance Audi which gives him nothing but problems. I owned one of them back years ago only thing with the vtec it’s a bit like a power valve engine with no bottom end and very weak midrange All the powers above 6500rpm no real torque for overtaking but once you’re in the power band it’s a different beast.

The throttle is responsive due to it being wire and the vxr having a electric throttle. They feel slower than the vxr because they have no torque compared to the vxr And I think personally you’ll be lucky to get 3-3.5k for the vxr they have dropped a bit

Ive driven both vxr and type r I bought a nice premier edition and I absolutely love it yeah people would argue there not fast in a straight line but with a good tuner these cars can be quick so go for a type r there fun something you won’t find in any modern day car.no matter what mood you’re in if you have an ep3 it will more than definitely cheer you up bags of fun reliable as anything buy a type r bro you won’t regret it

The gearbox on a civic isn’t exactly bomb proof jese, my mate has one and he wore his 3rd gear out. The synchro went in third, he had to buy another car in the end, he bought 05’ plate one. Not sure on the jdm champion white edition does it have stronger box?

I owned a cosmic grey EP3 and I loved it. But it gets boring. I was driving it begging for turbo power so now I have a corsa VXR for turbo power. I’m fully aware of piston 4 but if the engine blows I can get a full engine for 400 notes. A turbo’d car can get good gbp gains for a small spend. Ep3 I had full zorst, enclosed induction, etc but it struggles to get additional power unless you spend big money for just a few Bhp. I did love it and they have gone up in price now but it’s not all that. After a few years messing with this I’m going to try get a supra but no rush, enjoying it. 😝
