I am a bass specific angler and a jdm nut myself and I also agree no one can do it as good as Japan. Almost 90% of my reels now are jdm Daiwas. I cant see myself ever going back. Great videos. Keep em coming.

That was very interesting about the line diameters. Makes a lot more sense now as to why the 2lb SOS line is so strong. Try not to pay attention to the trolls. They can zap the fun out of doing KZbin. Keep doing your thing and having fun. I enjoy your videos and learn a lot from them.

I'm hoping these Diawa jig heads come back in stock soon, I can't find any. As for the trolls, try not to let them bother you. I know that's easier said than done but there are more people that appreciate all that you do. I know I certainly do! Thanks again Randy, for the info & help...

Sir you are spot on about the US line ratings being understated. I use and like SOS 2# but when I switched to a wonderful Japanese 3# line I quickly learned that it would break off easier, despite the higher rating. Diameter is the best way to estimate a line rating on a US brand. It's my understanding that Nanofil is rated at actual strength, which might explain why you can find many online comments about it breaking too easily. Us US anglers are used to having a big safety margin over the number on the box.

Ron Mehringer thanks much for watching. SOS is great line and I will use it when some line that breaks around 3.5-3.75 pound strength is required....LOL. Those premium Japanese lines are really good.

Another great video Mr Randy, that was a very in depth explanation of the complete UL system rod, reel and line working together, what you do is a very sporting and specialized way to catch fish and lots of them at that, back in rhe spring i caught n 8 and a 10 lbs drum back to back on Priest with the latest UL rod I bought from trout magnet using 2 lb test SOS line, i had an audience of Asian folks marveled at how strong that line is, great stuff Mr Randy keep them coming!

👍🏼 #2..... Excellent explanation of using ultra light tackle... I'm sure it adds plenty of sensitivity.... I'd probably loose 50 jigs if I used ultra light on the structures I fish.....LOL

Great video Randy! I don't have the budget for JDM rods and reels, but I found an affordable micro-light rod out of Iowa. I did grab some ester line and the Diawa big heads. Go small or go home. ☺

Thanks for the videos...very informative. I just got a Palms Egeria UL rod on sale at JPAngler.com. Thanks to your review. You couldn't find anything near that nice in the states for the $142 shipped price that I paid. I also have a Luvias on the way. Can't wait to get out to the lake and catch some trout.

Gary Langford thank you for your support of the channel. I have a lot of high end rods.......but I have to say the Egeria 64 XUL is one of the most fun rods I have. I don’t think you could find a rod of that caliber here in the US for 200 bucks....they are that good. In my opinion the Luvias is the best “Made in Japan “ reel there is.....for the money.

love your videos man, good job :) does it feel like JDM stuff and UL fishing is getting a little bit more popular in USA? Greetings from Lithuania, keep it going :) and if you are a sucker for sensitivity - you should try Gamakatsu Yoihime luxxe HANA rods... probably some of the best light and ul rods in the past 10 years (talking about 2019 or 2020 model, because the new one just came out and there is no info about it yet)

Papow - thanks for watching. All I do is use an 18-24 inch section of 2# test Phantom fluorocarbon leader and tie it to the ester line using a triple overhand or as many call it...the surgeons knot. I will do a video about it as soon as I receive a drag checker that I ordered out of Japan. It will allow me to set drag at the exact amount I want.....test line breakage strength....and test knots.

Here is the first of a 3 part series about the importance of fishing lines. Geared towards bass and does not include JDM lines, but gives a good foundation for comparing and using different types of line. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXjYdZJtoNN2Z9k

Very interesting video. I respect that your so dialed in on ultralight fishing. I was wondering if you have ever tried the St. Croix panfish series rod. Also, do you have any recommendations for a good ultralight rod in the 100-150 dollar range? Thanks for your time, and keep uploading the great content.

B-Roll n Bass. Thanks for watching...much appreciated. Yes I have fished the St Croix Panfish several years back......good rods. I have a rod I can recommend in the price range that is an Ajing rod. Now you need to understand the action of an Ajing rod is nothing close to the action of a St Croix Panfish rod...it is much stiffer and with a solid tip....which is great for working small plastics.....but it is an UL rod......built with Japanese components.....and is far more sensitive than most any UL rod you could buy off the shelf here in the USA. www.digitaka.com/item.php?item=4573236270609 let me know if I can be of further help.

How does the triple cross compare to the Corto?
@troutmagnetman
@troutmagnetman 5 жыл бұрын
Brian L thanks for watching and the comment. The Corto is a high end rod that cost about 100 bucks more than Triple Cross. The Corto has titanium guide frames vs stainless steel on the Triple Cross. The Corto is 2 inches longer yet weighs 1/2 ounce less. While the Triple Cross is a very good rod you can’t compare it to the Corto. The blank on the Corto is much better.

Nice video. I started using a Major Craft 6' XUL Trapara and it's been a blast. Got a couple of 16-17" rainbows out of our equivalent of area lakes here in NM yesterday. I agree with the comments on line test. I used to use Ande Tournament which is IFGA rated but it's hard to find now. Which Aging rod do your prefer your Tict Rockin' or the Tenryu?
@troutmagnetman
@troutmagnetman 5 жыл бұрын
bill piatek I fished for 21 years in the Red Sea and Persian Gulf.....for the first 12 years the only line we could get there was 80# test Ande......good line. Well both my Tict Rods are Mebaru Rods. The Lunakia is marketed as an Ajing/Mebaru rod. While I have yet to fish it it seems very much an Ajing rod to me. I will have to fish it to find out how it loads up with a fish on it. Those Mebaru rods fish perfect for crappie. The Basspara and Trapara got me started down this road.......my sons still have those rods and used them a couple of weeks back. Thanks much for the support.

rodney greenfield thanks very much for the kind words. Going to get out Wednesday in the boat below Nickajack Dam and see if the white bass are in there. I’ve heard the crappie are there also but they have spill gates open and can’t imagine crappie hanging around in that kind of current...but we will see. Also going to get out Thanksgiving day for a little while and after that it will be day to day as it looks like lot of rain moving in.
