Thank you Randy. Great video. Would love to trade info on JDM trout stream rods. I’m a fan of the Tenryu Rayz line. Terrific rod and the way it fishes gives you a confident feel, especially in current. I still can’t get over how truly beautiful many of the rods built for the JDM are. Keep the videos coming. Area Trout Rods are fun, I have the MC Area Stage. These rods seem to be made for Bluegill but I have never caught a Trout on one so they probably shine for them as well. Looking forward to the next video in this series.

Thanks for the info as always! For river rods, I have the Tenryu Rayz and a Finetail FSX but greatly prefer the Tenryu. The Finetail is a fine rod and can even handle decent sized smallmouth in current, but it's significantly less sensitive than the Tenryu and not even in the same ballpark as the light game rods I usually use (Lunakia/Scout Master). Definitely would like to get my hands on a Super Belleza one day as well; I saw some Russian videos where they were using a version of the Super Belleza on river trout, which looked like an absolute ball! I hope your surgery goes smoothly and you can get out on the river for some trout action! Stay safe and healthy out there!

I love watching your videos.Very informative.I am learning a lot from you.Have you ever considered the BFS rod and reels for blue gill and crappie fishing? Is it possible to use small baitcasting rods and reels for panfishing? And what are the pros and cons vs spincasting ?

Thanks for watching and the comment. I do not own any BFS gear.....although I looked at getting into it. BFS rods have a lot more glass in the rods to give them flex to allow the casting of light lures. They are nowhere near as sensitive as the spinning rods I am using. While you can cast light lures with BFS anything under 2 grams is not realistic. If your casting light spoons....spinners.....minnow type plugs, you can cast with much more accuracy using BFS.

I'll have to have some serious therapy to not set the hook before getting into those ultra light rods..... Sound like you're giving your son some incentive to get on the water with you...... Liked. Do have a question Randy. Trout rods are lower powered than other UL rods such as Ajing right? I routinely have the real chance of catching 4-6 lbs trout and these can snap a 2 lbs line in an instant if I set the drag too tight. It seems that other types of JDM UL may actually be more suited to these trout, or is there something about these 'trout' rods that still make them better for trout? I just caught the first minute plus but will circle back later this evening to finish the rest of the video. Thanks.

Thanks for watching....if I was catching big trout..in current....needed a rod that was sensitive.....I would look at some ajing rods. If I was casting spoons...spinners...small plugs for those trout I would get a "Stream" trout rod.

Only you can do this video. I started looking for a 9’ rod for float fishing that has the same parabolic action like fly fishing rods. Do u have any suggestions where to look? It doesnt have to be sharp or sensitive because i will use it with float. But i want light and soft and no wobble. Everything i touch this long wobbles, or tonreduce wobble they make them very stiff..

Thanks for watching Victor. I can't help you on the rod...just no experience with any JDM rods like that. A few years back I ordered a Blue Current TZ 8' 3" Long Cast thinking to use it as a float rod..way too rigid.....it just sits out in the garage....LOL.

Thats what im afraid. They use them to sling lures from shore and need maximum distance and a long rod cant be soft if u need distance. I love the blanks of these high end fly rods. Maybe i find someone to build one for me. If u ever come across something like that shoot me and email!

@@jso275 I would try for the Super Bellezza Area trout rod. The Diplomat Extreme 6' 2" UL is a great rod for micro jigging. The extremely soft tip gives you a great hook up rate. Olympic has a new 2021 Bellezza Prototype rod out that looks interesting also.

@@micahlee8661 yes...just stay within the rating of the rod. This rod is designed to use nylon...braid...and polyester line. Just and FYI...if you're using US market braid keep in mind it will break way over the stated breaking strength.
