Stick a 'led load resistor' on the blinkers or indicators lol (one per side) and it will stop that 'short fast' blinks (that flash rate wouldn't be legal here in Australia)... Looking good, I use to drive the little carry utes here when I was an apprentice, they were popular in the railway maintenance departments...

Love these videos, your aluminium radiator is a work of art ! Manual choke for the win. Really good idea replacing the hoses and plastic T's 👍 You'll get another 5hp with an electric fan ! Your Tacho looks awesome 😆 These little trucks were super popular on Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido. The snowfall there is some of the highest in the world. PS: The "just punch it !" technique can work really well for tiny trucks, they're harder to break because of the very light weight and lower stress on driveline components 😆

I've been looking at one of these mini trucks for a long time! I may be retiring to a rule area once again such as Central Oregon! So they've been something I've been highly interested in, if I may make a comment the one thing I would do, not only a locking rear diff! I would also think about the possibility of a 4-link or a triangulated 4 Link! The easy way to do it depending upon the loads you want to carry, is to remove one of the strongest lower leaves of the rear spring packs! The one with the most starch in it. Cuz I did notice the set of overloads we're not connected! Since it has the long rear shackles the little bit of lift as you mentioned in your previous videos oh, I think a softer rear pack would work very well! As far as a multi-link situation as I mentioned earlier there is such a variety of side-by-side shocks and small coilovers that could be easily adapted with your skills which are impressive mind you thank you for the series of these videos I am enjoying them immensely

Nearly all the trucks going to the US didn’t pass the Japanese inspection for many years (tenken).I think it’s something to be well aware of. The cracked hoses, and dodgy lines are a sign that this truck wasn’t road legal in Japan for many years, maybe more than 10+ and likely was used as a beater/farm truck only. It’s nice seing the truck get loved

I've been having problems with my truck randomly sputtering to the point where you can't even drive, then poof, it runs perfect 🤔 I was looking at those carbs, might just cut the the case and change it out. My bumper lights were busted up when I got it, so I picked up some Chineseum trailer lights, never got the running light to work 🤷♂️ but I have turn signals at least. Been thinking about selling it and getting a 4x4 Acty... 2wd sucks! Also a 5th gear would change my life 😆 Great vid once again! 👍

What year is your truck? Mine is a 1990 with an electronic ignition, a subscriber have an 89 Carry and it’s got points ignition, I wonder if it’s carb or ignition, does it sputter more when it’s extra wet out? If so that could be something to look into? Thanks for checking out my new video! Do you have any new videos coming out soon?
@DecayWithUs2 жыл бұрын
It's a 91 carry, it's hard to tell if it's carb or ignition. Cap and rotor look tip top 🤷♂️ I purchased a new fuel pump a while back but never installed it knowing it's not likely the issue (BTW the pump is the same as a Honda Vmagnum or whatever they were called, you can get them for $40 instead of 4x that) the problem is VERY sporadic and didn't happen for almost a year, tho I only drive it once a month if that. Got a stock pile, probably gonna sit down this weekend and edit! If you haven't checked out the last video it's pretty funny, I fell Clear through a kitchen floor 😆😆😆

Hey Mike - had the same hyperflashing turn signal issues as you seem to be having with your suzuki on my 95' daihatsu. Installed some resistors to return to normal flashing speeds (voltage was too low for the system to 'recognize' the new LED bulbs), but I think you can also swap out the flasher unit itself for a more robust solution. Love the kei truck (and panz) content!

I see you have rear lift shackles, and a lack of articulation. What I did on my 1996 Carry was swap the rear leaf springs with a set from the rear of a Suzuki Samurai. Got them used off Craigslist and replaced all the bushings. Then took the leaf packs apart and swapped the overload leafs from the Carry to the Samurai springs. Now I have 1.5” inches of lift over stock on the stock shackles. Got some longer shocks and it’s an easy upgrade.

I added some text on the screen of the video with some jet Info I remembered at the time of editing the video. Honestly this new carb was way different then my old one, the old carb still had a needle on the CV slide and this new carb did not, there were about 4 different jets in the float bowl and the stock jets didn’t have numbers stamped into them. It made rejetting even more difficult 😂

Wow, what a couple of cool little trucks! Nice work on the upgrades, always good to see it done properly. Here's a couple of "atta-boys" sent your way. LOL Not sure if you are aware of it but something to be aware of is that silicone coolant hose will allow a small amount of coolant to slowly permeate through the hose due to the fact the the molecular size of the coolant is smaller than the hose's structure. Not a deal breaker by any means as it is a superior hose in all other respects. Just a heads up if you notice the coolant level drop a cup or so after 6-9 months, or if you smell coolant with no visible leaks. Keep up the great vids!
@Mikefestiva2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out my new Kei truck video 🙂 Thanks for the tip about the silicone hoses 👍🙂I didn’t know that.
@74willy812 жыл бұрын
@@Mikefestiva I learned of this many years ago, there's still a lot of misunderstanding and lack of knowledge about the issue. As a trucker for many years I learned about this shortly after the trucking industry all started to use silicone hose. We started to notice coolant loses that were at first unexplained. Shortly after we all got educated as to the reason why. It is actually the water component of the coolant that permeates the hose. Not a big deal if you are aware of what is happening and act appropriately. Still damn good hose and still widely use in the industry. Ya just have to know the devil you're dancing with. Here's a good link from Gates the outlines the phenomena. aviondemand.com/product-knowledge/gates-water-permeation-in-silicone-hose/
