Love this. I added a cooling tower for the steam lo that feeds back into the water storage with a splitter giving priority to the tower so it shouldn't ever back up. Since we're using way more than it recovers. But still helps!

LOL. Just before you begged for the Likes, I gave you a like and subscribe. Found it funny. I've enjoyed your tutorials as I've gotten into the game. While I don't always agree with your plan, I find your thinking sound and your plans useful as a baseline. I'm also relatively new and I learned that there were more boilers to unlock before I really nailed down my build for this level of distilleries, so that helped! I personally tend to be a minimalist, though, where I want to expand only when I need to, but have the baseline there so I can when I have to. Still figuring out how to do it properly in this game. Thank you for your vids. Your style is both to the point AND fun, which is tough to do sometimes, I know.

I love setting up advanced Diesel/Chemical plant, because I love pipes, because pipes dont require power, few things are more satisfying than observing a big pre release factory draw 3 MW on average 4.5 MW at peak

@@JDPlays I'm actually wondering, what is the best recipes for cracking residue oil, I've been cracking heavy oil into diesel and naphtha into fuel gas, but I am wondering if it isn't better to crack heavy oil into naphtha, and all the naphtha into fuel gas. Generally I dont have a problem producing enough diesel. What's your thoughts?

u can create a blueprint for your particular save but it will only work on that save. Build whatever you want and then copy the whole thing and place it on pause somewhere else. Presto you have a blueprint. Now there is a but.... It doesn't copy the settings/recipes, so they will have to be manually copied from a built structure or manually edited.
@JDPlays2 жыл бұрын
If you hold shift when copying it will copy the building settings as well

I like the form factor of the refinery section. Less so the infrastructure side, which doesn't look very tileable (so if, say, I wanted 12 lines, expanding to 3 gas boilers is going to be awkward). You might include tips for setting this up before you have all the extras (Gas Combustion, Power Generation II), though it's mostly straightforward (temporarily flare the light/heavy oil in place of the power generator I imagine, leave a space for the gas boiler and make sure the coal boiler is accessible because it will be running for a while). I usually reach for Advanced Diesel just as soon as I can afford to sustain the research cost of Lab Equipment I so that I can get off the ugly Basic Distiller, I'm certainly not going to wait another 5-6 years for Groundwater pumps, Power Generation and Gas Combustion before setting up a REAL oil refinery (after the almost mandatory Pipes II). Typical year I'm putting it together is 0021 or 0022, so definitely no frills or excess parts available.
@JDPlays2 жыл бұрын
I provide these as a guide, after you have the required tech, when you decide to set them up is always upto you the player. There is nothing wrong with setting up a tempory setup to then move across to something more stable and scalable afterwards
@markdehaan44762 жыл бұрын
Nice set-up. You forgot the flare at the pipe balancer to burn off the excess heavy & light oil once buffer tanks are full.

Another advantage of naphtha is you can shift your Rubber production away from using diesel and into using naphtha
@peterknutsen3070 Жыл бұрын
Likewise, you can shift your Rubber production from using Sulfur, which you make from the Sour Water, instead of using Coal. One of these, using Naphta (or Alcohol) or using Sulfur, increases the Rubber production, and the other removes the creation of Waste Water, but I can’t remember which is which. Eventually you’ll want both, anyway. Furthermore, since you’ll have much more Sulfur than you need, you can also turn some of it into Acid. Acid has several uses, but the first one is to boost your Copper Electrolysis output by about 23%.

The Coal Burner on the Build, at what time does it get paused or deleted?

as soon as you want honesty, after its put 48 steam into the system that should be enough that its self sufficient, i normally turn mine off after i see the gas boiler fire at least once
