So basically you inflate the market with materials by creating a high demand by crashing the market and make Earth print money. It's gonna be fixed in-game, probably, but not IRL, unfortunately.

Been falling foul of the lack of cash at the start of game and also running out of research points, You just solved that issue showing me just one button in the game, I am going to try and see if i can build my expedition centre by getting the parts i currently don't have access to :P

I remember a solution to this "bug" from another game. Dynamic shopping price. Every 1 of an item you add to the cart, the next item is that much more.

Looks like they fixed this with more goods available than you can purchase in 1 load

pretty sure this is patched you no longer have enough money to empty the market supply of any item in the beginning of the game
