Bro I played this entire game for two days without realizing you can “buy science”! Meanwhile I decided to get the rover and transport early on for a boost in resources to push contracts. That’s how I got my science lol

You just decided to create an extra level of difficulty because the game was "too easy" right? 😆 Well this probably made you a boss at fulfilling contracts just to get that science rolling lol.

Besides placing multiple buildings (and cables) with SHIFT, you can also easily duplicate buildings at a later time by pressing CTRL C. Way faster than opening the menu every time.

@@SirStefanGaming you can also use the left ctrl for copying recipes. And what i find also usefull, is the "L" when you are in conveyor mode to toggle pathfinding on or off. and ctrl+v for pasting. I hope they add a button for conveyor mode later on, maybe it is already there, but I could not find it in the controls section

any idea what research branch "Salvage" is on? so you can dismantle the damaged buildings on the surface? granted your in sandbox mode here, but I started with the tutorial....

It's under Fundamentals: you have to follow Drone Upgrade > Oxide Mining Rate > Automatic Repair > Hauling Drones

great guide, wanted to ask from the footage are you in the sandbox rater than the story mode as don't see lots of destroyed things dotted around. If so what do you recommend for story mode going for the saving the people or doing the contracts, some content creators have said that for starting off it's easier to to do contracts over saving the people
@SirStefanGaming5 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes the footage is from the sandbox mode. For story mode I'd recommend focusing on the contracts before you start worrying about colonists. First off; contracts are introduced earlier and can thus be performed from a pretty early on stage. Secondly, housing and upholding a group of colonists required quite a stable industry section on your base. Being able to fulfil contracts will simply allow you to gather more funds and science points which will help boost any development of a colonist complex. I hope this helped!

ok, found the salvage upgrade thing, but what about the mobile drilling rig? I have the thing to build rovers and trucks, but I dont have the option for the rig. I was able to research the upgrade for it tho....

How do you make multiple power grids?

By placing at least one power production building that is not linked to your already existing grid.

thank you! that power cable thing was driving me nuts. I had 20 small solar panels and 5 batteries, but they never seemed to charge properly and kept running out of power during the night cycle.
@SirStefanGaming5 ай бұрын
Power can be a tricky thing in The Crust. When you keep running out of power it can be the wire problem but also simply not having stored enough power vs maximum consumption needed during the entire night. You might need to build more solar panels and place more batteries.

@@SirStefanGaming for me atleast it was the cable thing. I was ending up with multiple powegrids and no clue how that was happening.

Is there any downside to "playing the market" and making lots of money first?
@SirStefanGaming5 ай бұрын
You mean as opposed to focus on getting colonists first? Not that I've experienced so far: playing the market enables at the very least to build up science points income and when done properly you build up a good amount of money.

@@SirStefanGaming The combat scenes "looked cool" because you're a layperson looking in. I grew up in NYC so we can't carry guns, so I tried other weapons training... I taught my boys how to use sabers (not metal, but they still hurt) and I showed them, just two ppl (the boys) attacking me, meant my almost instant death. I taught them to attack high and low, make sure they were on opposite sides of the person they were fighting... And I couldn't do a thing. Those Star Wars "fights" were, "just look at the pretty lights..." Cause idk if you know, most sword fights end REALLY quickly if they were real... No movie BS in combat back in the days.

@SirStefanGaming4 ай бұрын
Being stuck is no fun but no worries, I've got you! In addition to being rewarded with science points after completing contracts, you can also purchase them. To do this; go to the Commerce Center at the bottom right, then the Crust Solutions menu, and go to Science Points. Here you can spend funds to purchase extra points. The number in front of the hour glass icon indicates how long these points will be available, after which they will be deduced from the respective total at the top of your main screen.
