The craziest thing to consider is that the Texans were so good this year, and they have a ton of cap space and decent draft picks to spend this year to further bolster their roster while already having a franchise QB, 2 good receivers, a good TE, a franchise tackle, a great pass rusher and D-line, and a good CB. They might be the scariest team in the league next season if they make the right acquisitions.

He got Collins in 21, Stingley, Green, Pierce and Harris in 22, and got Stroud, Anderaon, Tank, Henry T, Scruggs, and Patterson in 23. Out of all those players maybe Green and Pierce wont be here for long but overall hes done a phenomenal job. Especially in the later rounds
@micahdavis13699 ай бұрын
The people that wanted him gone after a single season never made sense to me. His job is too assemble the best roster possible, obviously he couldn't do that with what he was given in just 1 year. If we fired him so soon we never would have gotten to this point.

I completely agree Caserio had to completely rebuild this roster cause the one he inherited was pretty bad. It’s a blessing that Deshaun asked for a trade because if not we would have been trying to make it work with him for years with a subpar roster. Him wanting out forced us to look in the mirror and realize we weren’t a very good football team and address the severe lack of talent.

I do think it's worth mentioning that going into the season, AFC South had a lot of threats that ended up looking like puppies this season. The Colts should have had it (coming from a Jaguars fan btw), but their quarterback was injured early. And then it should have been the Jaguars, but Trevor Lawrence got injured and then forgot how to play football. And the Titans, who were better than their record would suggest, just didn't live up to their potential probably because of bad management and not a lack of talent. And with good picks and a solid offseason, there's a good chance the Texans go from 1st in the division to 3rd or 4th. That Browns postseason win was certainly unforgettable, but I think a lot of people didn't actually watch it closely. There were so many missed calls that favored the Texans, and even when the Browns were able to clean up their own play, the Texans had already run away with it. The game would have been a lot closer with better refing imo. I still think the Browns played bad, but you could see the morale shift during the first half. The Browns were also obviously riddled with injuries and are a serious contender next year as well (their only chance at the Super Bowl before getting screwed by the Watson trade). Even if the Texans stay strong next year, they're in AFC and competing with all of AFC South, all of AFC North, the Chiefs, the Bills, the Dolphins, the Chargers, and even the Jets with Aaron Rodgers (maybe). They'll have a hard time making the playoffs again, same thing I fear for the Jaguars, and if they do, with the fourth seed, they're probably playing one of the Bills, Dolphins, Browns again, Bengals, Ravens, or maybe even the Chargers with better coaching. Or the Colts or Jaguars or Titans, tbh. If the Jaguars were in NFC South rn, they'd have made a conference game already. Same thing with the Texans probably. But all of the talent is waiting to slaughter them in the playoffs. And if the Chargers manage a miracle run, the Texans will be against the Chiefs, and against the refs, in the wild card round. Overall, next year, I'd expect the top 4 seeds to be the Chiefs, Browns, Bills, and Colts, not in that order, with the wild card consisting of the Ravens, Bengals, and maybe the Dolphins or any of the 3 in AFC South. The Browns and Bills are both gonna be playing harder than they've done before because these might be the last years they have with a lot of these players, and I think the Chiefs will too, before losing Travis Kelce and a bit of ref favor. There's a good chance that the Texans don't even make the playoffs next season, and will have to wait another year for a run. NFC is so bad though lol. Only two good teams vs the 12+ in AFC lmao. Baker Mayfield has a chance at a Super Bowl berth in NFC.
