Fantástico on the analysis Cian. Coleridge Bernard Stroud the 4th is special because of his brain, and that’s what you have highlighted here. Of course his accuracy is sensational, and he has a cannon on his right arm - he threw the ball from his own 20 to the Indianapolis 20 (60 yards in the air !!! Whew) on the 1st offensive play v the Colts. He led the NFL in yards per game @ 276 ypg in his rookie campaign, and Td/int ratio. Tomas Brady and Joseph Montana did also in their careers, but not as a rookie. I’m grabbing this dudes merch, I think he’s a legend in the making. You are right, we need gunslinger’s like this kid. I have a sneaky feeling this team will play in London next year and take the excitement around him to a global audience. Yes, we love CJ7, he’s revitalized our team and I would love to see him on world stage for all to appreciate.
@TheNando19117 ай бұрын
Who were you comparing his arm talent to? The video cuts off but kinda sounds like you’re about to say Trevor Lawrence. If so among QBs where do you see Stroud ranking in terms of arm talent around the NFL?
@blackitachi69359 ай бұрын
And that's exactly why I wanted to draft him. You can't replace that type of precision and accuracy. It's elite, generational and game changing. Combine that with his aggressive mindset, it's a match made for HoF QB play.

Stroud has accuracy but he also has great control of the velocity and angle of the ball that creates a more catchable ball for the receiver and allows the ball to drop in between coverages. If you watch the TD pass to Brevin Jordan in the Cleveland game, Stroud floats the ball over a defender’s reach and softly lands in Jordan’s hands. I’ve seen quarterbacks zing the ball in situations like that and the ball is often knocked down by the defender, intercepted, or thrown high and hard and bounces off of the receiver’s hands.

My favorite thing about him is that he's so decisive with his throws. He does an incredible job of protecting the ball but he's also ballsy in some of these throws. He's had a few throws this season that look like they could be intercepted, but Stroud ends up putting it only where his receiver can catch it. No matter what, I think that that level of decision making is going to mean he's going to be successful all throughout his career.

I realized CJ Stroud was something special pretty early into the season. It was clear he was no normal rookie. That's why it was absolutely baffling to me that the Browns tried to play him like he was a normal rookie when they faced him in the playoffs. The showed him a bunch of fairly standard defensive looks and CJ Stroud absolutely tore them up. That being said, teams are definitely going to take him seruously this season. I can't wait to see how he imrpoves/evolves his game..

Brock Purdy lead the NFL in deep and intermediate passing efficiency and is quite the gunslinger. None of you people call him a gunslinger even though he's the NFL's best gunslinger. You just call him a 'system product.' Yet he leads the NFL in Air Yards per attempt (9.9) by 1.2 yards/attempt over his nearest competitor -- CJ Stroud. Yeah, Purdy is the Master, not Stroud. But you can't handle the fact he was drafted 262 and Stroud was 2nd. Ya'll need to stop with the draft-selection bias and watch the tape.
