It probably won't work for straight orbital launches but I'm curious what kind of max velocity they can achieve with a centrifuge.
@DreadX10
@DreadX10 2 жыл бұрын
@@Tech_Planet Balancing the centrifuge after launch is a nightmare. They show a liquid fuelled rocket in the cgi demo; the liquid in the tanks will not stop spinning upon launch. If something goes wrong during launch it will destroy the launcher. So many things wrong (beyond challenging) here.

Spin launch is bogus. Getting a object moving fast enough and then releasing it into the air would produce a very serious bang and melt the object in question. When going in a circle, the back end of the object is going in a slightly different direction than the front. The difference may be a small fraction of the speed but given the very high speeds, it is still much too high.

Kind of, thunderf00t takes the most extreme end of pessimism to debunk things but he is right to question their claims. There is no way that a satellite can be flung into space but it might be started on a sub-hypersonic rocket launch (that is just my guess though & even that is challenging). But those are excellent points about the moon/mars with vacuum.

Okay I just subscribed because you offer something that other types of channels of this caliber often do lack and that's proper grammar and fluent English not only that but the topics you cover are actually interesting and you don't go off of press release information but rather important notes of the topics subjects there are of interest. You achieve a level of satisfaction that rival contemporary channels. I'm surprised you don't have as many subscribers if you were a company I would put down a hundred shares of stock.

Smart munitions survive 20,000 G when launched from a gun. Originally they were mechanical with a clockwork type mechanism but electronics versions are used now for the higher level of sophistication like laser guidance. Depending on how much you want in you satellite and how you package it, it’s not unrealistic.
