It is a common ensemble in the Netherlands and Belgium. Kind of like a concert band but with flugelhorns instead of clarinets, no other woodwind, but with more saxophones and euphoniums/bariton horns

Luc Vertommen: Your arrangement of this contemporary choral classic is masterful. The shifting of the melodic material from instrument color to instrument color.... Amazing! I'm a choral composer from Ohio.... never thought I could be so moved by an instrumental arrangement of this beautiful piece. I encourage you to check out my Elegy for Dachau. There are numerous performances on KZbin (some better than others). I'd love to see what you'd do with it instrumentally.

It is a beautiful arrangement and brilliant musicians. You certainly have a unique blend of instruments. I don't think I have ever seen a band that had 3 euphoniums in it before. Is it me or are there no trombone players?

This type of orchestra is called 'fanfareorkest' in dutch these orchestra's are most common in the benelux and some parts of france and germany.

This is a gorgeous performance. However, this piece is just made for a vocal performance. Nothing else quite captures the beauty involved in the transitions and phrases. :-)

It's worth both the challenge and the attempt. Years ago I was quietly stunned by an arrangement of another work that substituted an electric violin for a solo voice.
