She wasn't turned down because she was too good looking!!! That's what she thought and she was playing the victim card. I like that her article was rejected even when they thought a guy wrote it. She realized that she needed to write something more interesting. This is a lesson many people today need to learn. Too many people crying about sexism, racism, transphobia, etc etc... Stop blaming others unless there is proof that you were marginalized.

This was one of those movies I loved as a kid and still can watch. Joyce was one of those underrated beauties in the 80's, like Betsy Russell. You enjoyed them for the physical attributes but they would do very well acting and could act, as Betsy has proven with her decades of work. Too bad this movie would be deemed problematic today because of a particular group of people.

In 1998, he returned to 90210, where he remained as a permanent special guest star through the show's final season in 2000. I’d even speculate that, if she’d continued acting, she would’ve eventually have roles that were offered to Sandra Bullock! Ah,well…. Since you brought up the 1990 Flash series, I’d be curious to see what’s going on with Amanda Pays (Tina MaGee) and more specifically Corrine Borher! Before there was Harley Quinn, there was PRANK!!! Though her IMDB page is longer than anyone realizes! Still, another challenging piece for THE GOOD STUFF, hint-hint. Anyway, a great catch-up!

I was born in the 70's and grew up in the 80's. I would rather watch this movie than movies produced in this age. Watching this movie, not only brings back memories, but it makes me realize that people were different in that era, they would do more for their fellow man, than they would now. For example, Terri buying new clothes for Rick because she new he needed style, doesn't happen to-day because everyone is only thinking about themselves. The 80's was just a different time, a different level of conciousness, a different way that people connected and and tried to support one another. It changed, before my eyes and I watched people start loving themselves instead of loving thy neighbor. The community became "only me" and it continued to what we have to-day. Every generation brings it's own bane.If you disagree, that is on you. But i was there in the 80's where if you had beef, we brough out card board and a boom box and your crew danced against our crew, and I watched it change to, if you had beef, you bring your guns and our crew brought our guns.

She was so talented and I bought a lot of stock in her in the 80s. She was in a low key 4 year relationship with the Boss Bruce Springsteen, the relationship before his infamous marriage to Julianne Phillips which led to Patty. She seems down to Earth and salt of the Earth. She had range and immensely gifted. That duel part in GUYS is a deft, tight rope act of a performance and maybe 2 other actors at the time or now for that matter could've done that role and pulled it off, which she did, in spades.

I literally just watched this movie the other day for poops and laughs. I was in high school when it was out and I wanted my husband to watch it. He’s 10 years younger than me. I am so glad I found this channel!!!

I know she was married to Johnny Depp and Clayton Rohner who played the love interest in this movie he was in a lot of movies also in the 80s Great Cast Thanx Dave for another great vlog🤗😎 wow that McDonald's commercial at the end I remember Billy Jayne being in it I thought that was Keith coogan in the commercial too I don't know?

Love the Tootsie and Yentl references made by Buddy in this flick … who knew back in the 80’s that Mrs. Doubtfire would piggyback off of this concept in the 90’s.

Between 1989 and 1991, if you turned a TV set to a random channel, there was a 11.8% chance it was showing Just One Of The Guys or Can't Buy Me Love.

I think this movie's a good example of how, if you love the characters, you don't mind it's formulaic. Gotta say, how could Billy Jayne not become a star?

I agree. It is a mystery why some people make it and others don't. I said the same thing about Jason Gedrick who played on Iron Eagle. In my view he had star written all over him.

I loved her brother! He was so funny, and Teri and her brother had such a great bond. I remember that commercial. Crazy. By the way, I think he was in a scene in Pretty in Pink. He's playing an instrument in the band Talkback, Rudy. I don't think he was part of the band though.

I remember watching Just One Of The Guys only once on Cinemax back in the 80’s. It seemed like it was a time for films about people who changed their sex to either get into a desired field or explore ideas and etc. Tootsie, with Dustin Hoffman, and a television movie called My Life As A Man(with Marc Singer as the protagonist’s boyfriend), He’s My Girl( T.K. Carter from John Carpenter’s The Thing)these were comedic faire back then. I loved the relationship between Joyce and Billy. I remember the scene where Billy picks up the phone and says some really nasty things to the person on the other end. He hangs up the phone and tells Joyce, “Mom says hi.” Classic. Joyce Hyser was perfect for the film. The Flash episodes The Trickster and The Trial Of The Trickster made me happy to see her again. Her line when she sees the fixation that The Trickster has for Meagan Lockhart is all around his hideout she says, “Jessie, you’re one sick pup.”

I like how in the movies many of the younger characters wore over-the-top 80's fashions like it was an everyday thing when no one in the real world ever wore it quite to that level.
