@@JDsVarietyChannel I used to hate pennies and when I cleaned my car out I threw them everywhere. A few days ago I found a Walking Liberty half dollar in my yard with my cheap metal detector. It`s a good detector for clad though, a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 that I received as a gift. I couldn`t get a date off the coin though because it was very worn. I was really surprised to find silver just messing around in the yard.

JD, good to see you and your family pulling on the same rope - family is everything. Your new house/home will certainly open up a whole series of landscapes in your life. I look forward to following your continuing adventures in the weeks/months/(years?) to come. Best regards to your Mum and Dad - they are looking good. Your Mum will benefit from the CPAP but they do take some getting used to. A friend in Colorado uses one and he has improved greatly - he also does water-aerobics and swears by this therapy. Good luck with the bees! My friends in North Wales keep several hives and have learned much about the potential benefits and pitfalls. I am sure that you have local sources of advice and good counsel - the world needs all the pollinators it can get. The bamboo will be fine if, as you are no doubt very well aware, you site it in the right spot away from the house. Great for screening and for creating mystery and surprise within garden vistas. With 'secret' sitting spots for quiet contemplation... Sensory planting a good idea here. I have really enjoyed watching how you have shaped, reshaped and re-reshaped your life and purposes over the past few years. More power to you, JD! Go well. Stay well. Say 'hey' to your folks and 'hey' to you too. Thanks for the ride so far... here's to the ride to come. Zane. England.

72 pennies The 1903 - 1985 Was Awesome I suppose considering the value of cents 100+ Yrs ago I would Imagine coins were Kept predominantly in Change Pouches or Horse saddle bags or While Riding ,Mounting, or Gardening. Considering also children worked and were much more mobile like walking to and from school or running errands for Mom and Dad. That being said I guess the old expression of "Penny Pinching" may have Originated. Great Video's Friend, Great History Behind those Coin mint Years From Teddy Roosevelt to Ronald Reagan. My favorite was the 1903 American Indian Head Penny that was also in Pristine condition. I try not to Miss any of All my Exploration dudes

I dig penny signals you never know when it's a silver chain or small silver ring. Interesting date range in that particular area of your property. Looking forward to your journey JD! I am curious how you found the property in Virginia to buy while living in Tennessee.
@JDsVarietyChannel5 жыл бұрын
Anyone who tries to cherry pick a yard with this much copper is going to miss silver. There's no way around it. I doubt anyone ever touched this yard unless it was detected pre 1980's by an old timer before all the modern coins were deposited. (I doubt that too, considering I also found 7 wheats and an indian head in my first go) And someone trying to avoid pennies would most certainly not be digging nickels and low tones either. There is next to no trash in the front, and only one modern pull tab so far. It's just a clean, well preserved, front lawn where not many items were dropped pre 1980's. I bet there's more coins buried under the driveway. If it was gravel I would dig it out no matter how long it would take. FYI. I don't live too far from the south west VA border. So I've been looking at all new properties coming up for sale within 35 minutes of me.
@RelicHuntingSouthTexas5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. Can't wait for your future videos. Be interesting to see what you find as far as relics too not just coins. And how the repairs and updates on the property go plus what you decide to do since you now have two houses living wise.

More of a testament to how good the metal detector is than the coins found. Its a shame that no dimes or quarters were found from about 1900-1964, anything better than a nickle would have been silver. Not a bad video, and cool in that its was neat to see so many hits. But man, these pennies are in such bad shape (less than "good") that even the 1916D and the 1903 Indian are worth maybe $0.25 and $0.50 recspectively.
@JDsVarietyChannel5 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Extremely acidic soil. All the pennies and nickels from this property are probably going to look pretty ugly. So I'll have to hope there's a nice 1916-D merc or 1921 quarter down there somewhere. lol
