To be fair, at the time I didn't own a garage so it was either in there or in the living room. Now that i've got a garage it sits out there.

Also, you'll actually usually see a small drop in sealed suction when the motors are in parallel, but, the extra airflow more than compensates.

Airflow wise the unit matches an old Ridgid wet and dry that VacLab tested, more suction though.

Right, a single stage motor tends to produce higher flow numbers where multi stage motors sacrifice that for higher lift. In this case we have 2 like 8 amp dual stage motors in parallel. It could be boosted to surpass it's current flow but eh It's mostly a novelty item for me

I found this one used on facebook marketplace. I'd assume you could buy them new if you really wanted but they're pretty spendy. I see Evacuumstore has them on their site there's a small single motor model for like $1600 dual motor for like $2000.

How did you install the two power switches

well i just unwired the coin box connected the white wires to the cord's white wire, same for the ground then connected 2 black wires to the cord (one for each switch) got a junction box made some holes popped in the switches attached black wires from the motor to one and the bulb to the other. It was a pretty simple process it took me more time to grind a space open for the cord.

One thing that would be neat is reassembling the coil-op mechanism and putting it in your garage so if your friends need to clean their cars they can for a fee

It would be kind of neat to have that working but the repair parts on them are kinda spendy from what i recall. I also wouldn't bothering charging a friend to use it.

This would compare to something like a SilentMaster S2 Or an MD B2. 2 5.7in twin fan Ametek motors. It's good for about 80" and 200CFM at the 2 in opening on the front, with clean filters. If you wanted, this could be installed as a central vac.

Funny I've thought about that but I think i'll save the central vac job for a dedicated central vac. It'll Likely be the Allegro Zenith but we'll see.

@@Blackheartvacs Honestly, I'd rather this over an Allegro, but my preference is a bag. While I rarely sell them, I also have a decided personal preference for dual motor, in parallel, units. Two 3 fan motors gets the same airflow and about 140" of suction.

@@Blackheartvacs Also, I eventually do desperately want one of these machines in my collection, my thoughts are to use it in the garage, or even better if I had a separate shop/garage, I'd just go ahead and plumb it in as a shop central vac. That same cuff you used on the front will also connect it to the 2in pipe.

@@compactc9 Well it was always my intention to use a bag in the Allegro I just decided on that particular unit due to the specs being pretty good with it having an 8.4" motor, the wattage of it shouldn't require a dedicated circuit unlike a dual motor motor and the MUA75 also seems like it won't be overly loud. I mean I know it would be tucked away somewhere but I figured the quieter the better. As for the Carwash vac, it'll go into my garage when I finally buy a house.

ive had a pro dyson guy swear that the dyson could bat a central vaccum once, boy did the hilarity insue i tell you

@@mondogecko01 Yeah there's a few people who are just completely delusional like that. Whatever they like is the best despite any evidence to the contrary. I'm still a little unsure where central vacuums stand and my sample size for them has been rather small. Of course there's such a variance in their power too.

@@Blackheartvacs Central vacs do range a lot in power, but the feel at the end of the hose on this is about what most in the business would consider the absolute minimum acceptable.

The only machines I think that can compare to these performance-wise are portable commercial extractors as they have twin motors most of the time. They are probably easier to get as well. The only thing is they typically require two circuits. To use them for dry vacuuming though requires a device called a dust downer.

I think the better question is why not? I think many collectors would jump on it given the opportunity. It is a rather unique piece.
