Thank you for this. Thierry from France.

Woo ! Great !
@JuneFlower8810 жыл бұрын
So here it is. Now we French fellows can understand how much you involve in your videos. It must be crazy long sessions of listening and paying attention to the slightest detail, when I see how flowing your French is here, and knowing that you can't even speak the language. You even recreated the rolling r's that are very specific to George Brassens and give the vintage touch. Congratulations, really! Will show the video to my dad who's a big fan of Brassens. Also, your voice sounds so different in French. It's always the case but it's very surprising! I thought it sounded a bit like the main character's in Miyazaki's last film The Wind Rises ;D
@0nePiece985 жыл бұрын
Very good remark concerning the 1960's french "R", many people pronounced it like this, De Gaulle might be one of the most famous examples of this
@aumenarys4 жыл бұрын

I noticed the rolling R's as well and thought it was a very nice attention to detail.

Wow, I'm stunned! For a young American dude to channel George Brassens like that (not to mention a bit of Django) and then pull off flawless Pink Floyd, Beatles, and other classic rock covers is unreal! I've traveled and worked in France quite often and I thought I was the only American familiar with George Brassens! Plus I have a Gitane D-500, but it doesn't sound like that when I play! Well done!

Johnny Conner I think it is pretty good for a certain style, you hear the style enough, it helps with pronunciation. I would be very careful, Billy Joel once got in trouble foisting his French on a French audience, they can be a little touchy. Good job guys.
@johnnyconner41845 жыл бұрын
@@Voirreydirector LOL Right you are! ;-D Although... I've always found it odd that we native speakers of English here on the North American continent seem almost unanimously to find newly arrived Europeans on our soil to have quaint, charming accents when they try to speak our language (even badly); BUT put the shoe on the other foot and one will discover -- more often than not -- that an American or Canadian who bravely tries to communicate, particularly in French, whilst visiting Europe will not get much help at all; and by 'help', I mean being polite and kindly ignoring the mistakes in grammar or pronunciation that inevitably WILL occur with the attempt. Perhaps consideration can't be applied so readily when it comes to music. For me personally, I can say that it's always been about communication -- period. Although a linguistic mistake can sometimes distract the mind a bit from the performance of the song, I certainly don't feel that it detracts from the beauty of the whole.
