Another technical comment about Morinus' work: A planet has accidental house rulership (a meaning of the opposite house) not because the house takes on the role of the opposite one, but because planet casts the opposition to the opposite house. The opposition is a major "copy" of the planet. Since the opposite house determines everything that it includes to manifest in a specific area of life, it also determines the planetary "copy" (the degree of opposition). Thus the house of death determines the planet in the 2nd to manifests in questions of death, but not so much as if the planet were there by bodily position. According to Morinus house deterines physical objects (stars and planet) more effectively than the empty degrees, which are connected with the same planets (by aspects, receptions or antiscia) If the house took on the role of the opposite house (as Penelopa says), the house would give this specific role to its ruler or to the planet aspecting its cusps. But this is not the case - a ruler of the 2nd doesn;t have any connection with the 8th.. Morinus explicitly says that accidental house rulership (i.e. taking on the meaning of the opposite house) happens only with planets that occupy the house.

Commentary to the 2:46:42: Saturn is determined by the 9th house because it is a secondary ruler of the 9th, i.e., it is a dispositor of the lord of the 9th, who manifests through Saturn. On the other hand, Saturn occupies the 8th house and is strongly determined by the 8th house. So, it primarily shows death in connection with the 9th house matters

I always loved book 21 but found certain concepts a bit confusing in the Baldwin translation. Thank you Penelope and Chris for this awesome interview!!!

Hey Chris I'd like to bring a topic to light here, when she explains how Morin arrived at the sun as the significator of the 8th and 9th house themes of King Gustavo's chart, I always use a planetary disposition created somewhere in my mind, come on; a night chart, moon, venus and Mars which are important right, but I won't talk about them now. death depends more on the ascendant sign and its ruler so also the native's interests will depend on this planet ruler and its place in the chart by home his primary motivations will lead him to death and glory , knowledge is the end . King Gustavo, ascendant at 9 degrees of Sagittarius, his ruler Jupiter is in house 2 at 24 in the sign of Aquarius ruled by Saturn, Saturn is retrograde detriment in the sign of Leo at 24 degrees and as if that wasn't enough in exact opposition to Jupiter. Let's go Ascendant = Sagittarius Jupiter = Aquarius Saturn = Leo Sun = Sagittarius

1:26:30 wow this point on how to “enter the territory of the other” is gorgeous, helpful, and enlightening. (i stopped the video to comment) the 5th and 9th sextile to the 7th sounds like such a curious way to know someone with availability for consent and understanding! to understand another would then help one learn/understand themself in the 1st 🤗 one thinks something is “beautiful” because that thing is part of them.
