So much respect for his openness regarding his addiction. A very sensitive, intelligent, in touch with himself man.
@PavelKish7 ай бұрын
I think if you beated your addiction, then today you're not your bad past that you were in a past. If a person was and still is into addiction, then he is that bad addiction. You seen how Robert Downey reacts when people talking to him about his past addiction.. that brother is hurt by it, he don't want people to remind him about a person his no longer is from a past. Van Damme and Robert Downey deserve a lot of-a lot of respect because they are the best version of themselves today. And GOD bless you too, Bruno. Did you beat your addiction too like these people?

more like underrated cheap azz film, was game ova for his Hollywood blockbuster movie dayz when, knock off/inferno/universal soldier 2 all the way to 2022 nothing but direct to DVD. think about it, if jcvd didnt f#k up, we would of stared in some big movies, he only had 5 big studio films, then it was over. universal soldier nowhere to Run hard target street fighter time cop sudden death was a flop at the box office maximum rick same sh#t. plus Double team the quest was another one. his independent movies bloodsport kickboxer cyborg death warrant wrong bet double impact made big money. but they was not big studio filmz. like time cop, now we got Liam Neilson doing them action films, witch van Damme should be doing, I Dnt no why, Hollywood doesn't get jcvd bk in them type of filmz, he still in good shape still got them kicks. look at Steven Seagal, same sh#t, he didn't last long, Dolph Lundgren didn't have a big break in Hollywood only real big action guys, was Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone,

Even with all his personal issues, his struggles with his personal "demons", sobriety, addictions, etc., Van Damme always had so much more charm & seemed like so much more goodhearted a person than Seagal.

Even bigger problem today is that a large chunk of Hollywood are pedophiles. And that's ignored, unlike the little drug problems that everybody likes to bring up when interviewing more decent people like Van Damme.

JCVD kept his cool so well here. JAY...WTF?? Starts the interview being so negative. JCVD's vices . WHO DOES THAT??? Though, I recall Jay would take shots at guests. Find embarassing photos or mention parts of their lives they would like to forget. I mean....if you have guests coming over for a party do you start off conversation at the dinner table with "...so...how's the drinking problem??". Then whip out a nerdy photo from their past to show every one at the table....Jay shows i2 of JCVD's nerdy photos on national TV.... Though, partly to blame would be JCVD's dad. Why was he walking around with nerdy photos of his son??? :) A lot of the major action starts tthat made it were at one time the nerdy kid bullies picked on. It's because they were bullied that they started studying martial arts or began bodybuilding. Chuck Norris/6x US Karate Champion. Dave Batista/ex WWF wrestler....one of the larger guys too. JCVD being a good guy didn't do anything to Jay like ask Jay's dad for one of Jay's nerdy old photos. :) That would have been funny. Good for the show. I'm sure Jay would have handled that well........NOT. Guys like Jay....we know the type....take pokes at friends but hwen the tables are turned....

I like how JCVD educated Jay and returned the favor near the end. Jay (most definitely) deserved to be brought down a peg. It was great.
@AGC8282 жыл бұрын
@@txmetalhead82xk I'm not sure who it was but one of Jay's guests came prepared. Had an embasrassing old photo of Jay. JACD should have done his research and had his people dig up a few photos....though JCVD isn't that type. Something else....usually guys like Jay will take shots at guest they think they can get away with pulling crap like that. Would he have done that with Mike Tyson? Dolph Lundgren? Floyd Mayweather? JCVD was a big name Hollywood MA film star....his rep mattered....so what did Jay do?? Though later on throughout Jay's career other stars and comedians would make fun of Jay's chin so.....he got his too. Many times over. Look at Jay today in 2022...then look at JCVD....JCVD is still making films....

Knockoff is actually my favorite Van Damme movie. So fun and the asian director really knew how to use him. Glad to hear the reviews were actually good. Sad to see Van Damme not really selling it well here, though. I heard he was so coked out of his mind he apparently doesn't even remember making it.

The movie was really a let down, damn he had tsui hark as director...he should have find a better script, more ambitious. Even Double Team is better...at least it's a moderately funny triumph of kitsch. Very strange JCVD didn't try something more accomplished with him. John Woo's Hard Target and Ringo Lam's Maximum Risk were way better flicks, still very watchable. He had the great intuition to import the talents of Hong Kong 80ies new wave but he didn't exploit the best out of their massive skills in the action field. Missed great chance, too bad. He could have done some game changing, revolutionary action movies.
