I like Van Damme in some of some of his movies, but it's more the way the Directors want you to act in a movie. On his personal life I admire his compassion for his movies, family and animals, if doing coke helped him get through dark times...so what?....nearly all famous people do it, almost everyone finds something to help them get through the days, drugs, botox, etc.

Suprised no-one has commented on this. Lady looks bored. Presumably hadn't even seen the film. Great film - what a shame that Van Damme didn't quite make the big time. This was his best film, imo. This, and Time Cop meant he was just about to make it as big as Stallone or Schwartenegger but, suddenly, a few mediocre outings, along with a shift in special effects action films with skinny guys i.e. The Matrix sent his career into the abyss. Shame.

Well not quite, he also did Streefighter and more recently Expendables 2 with Stallone. His career was going great until he started doing coke and his success got to his head. When it came the time to renegotiate his contract he decide to ask more money than Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger were making at the time and the big Hollywood Studios decided he wasn't worth what he was asking. That along with his addiction to cocaine made him do a few movies that when straight to DVD and his career was never the same afterwards. I have met him last week in Paris and he's the nicest person you could wish to met. He's still my hero to this day.
