Saw him at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, playing a Prokofiev concerto some years ago now. I thought, during the applause, I wonder if he'll do an encore?, I wonder if it'll be Debussy?, I wonder if it will be this piece, my favourite? And guess what?, he played this as his encore. Magical, I willed it to happen!

Mr. Bavouzet has a phenomenal technique. I do, respectfully, believe that a piece of music with the word "reflections" in its title will be more effective if played a bit more slowly. But there's much to like about this performance.
