And us older fans know that originally, the “Phoenix Force” was a retcon that Marvel wrote years after the Dark Phoenix story, and that _originally_ “Phoenix” was all Jean’s own native power. It was her own power all along.

The phoenix devours entire galaxies and is just chilling in Jean. She can dismantle you by your atoms and scatter them across the universe without much effort. The only beings that can touch Jean are the super powerful magic ones that don't play by the laws of the universe and those that can warp reality or change time.

Actually not really, Jean as Phoenix is second to TOAA stated by the Watcher itself. All abstracts kneel to Jean because they fear her the most. Death respects her and wouldn't dare to cross path with Phoenix Force Jean. Phoenix itself is reality warper on grand scale beyond comprehension due to her limitless powers along with controlling life, death of all life. She literally exist outside reality and time itself.

Jean is an omega level telepath, but an alpha level telekinetic. Her telepathy is so powerful, if we were to compare her to Xavier as singers, Xavier would be singing to himself in the shower, and Jean would be a world-class opera singer. It’s very strange that Xavier is always presented as a powerful telepath, when Jean’s power eclipses his, even when wearing cerebro. Here telepathy is omega level, while his is Alpha level. Her telekinesis is alpha level, which is by no means weak, but it always bothered me that she was only alpha level. I personally believe it seems far more fitting to have her at omega level too. People often forget that “Phoenix” was originally simply Jean’s powers evolving too rapidly for her to control. The Phoenix power was all hers. The “Phoenix Force” entity never existed. The only reason they made it an external force was because the writers wanted to bring Jean Grey back to life, and not have her be personally responsible for galactic genocide. Personally, I find the retcon ridiculous, and much preferred the original comic idea that Jean’s mutation simply reached its maximum potential. But alas, here we are.

The animated show did Jean dirty. The 90s show had her faint too often. Now the comics really show her potential and powers at full force. She is one of the strongest X-Men.

I've always said that Telekinesis is the power I'd want the most. With that you could pretty much do anything: Storm, Magneto, Vulcan etc can do. Don't believe me, check out an Omega Level Telekinetic like Exodus!!!

Magneto doesn't need metal for his powers to work lol. Whether you have metal or not it won't matter. He controls magnetic fields. Even if something is plastic he could still control it.

Her telekinesis is limited but yet powerful. I think her tk is the second most powerful, only Exodus is stronger. Nothing is too light or too heavy for her tk abilities. She can lift tons.

It’s not “limited” - it’s at alpha level, which is still incredibly powerful. Let’s not forget that Xavier is depicted as “The” telepath, but he’s only at alpha level in his telepathy. So imagine what Xavier does with his telepathy. Jean has a similar level of power to that with her telekinesis.

Problem with Jean is control or limited duration that she can in the cartoons (I don't know in the comics). Her power usage is not efficient .

Only in XTAS, where lifting a chair with her telekinesis would make her faint. In X-Men Evolution, Jean was an absolute powerhouse. She starts off very modest with her powers at the start of the series, yet we see her powers grow rapidly. She very quickly becomes the most powerful member of the team. And she’s incredibly useful and capable. And doesn’t faint.

@@idk-wn4cvIn a fight between Jean vs Wanda, here telepathy and telekinesis vs Wanda’s probability powers, Jean wins. For Phoenix vs Scarlet Witch, Phoenix wins again. Wanda only managed to (temporarily) cast out Phoenix from 616 during AvX because she had Hope with her. Hope became the avatar of the Phoenix, and allowed Wanda to banish Phoenix. So in short, Wanda put the Phoenix in a time-out, because the Phoenix allowed her to.

@@arc7375 Fact is Wanda also has telepathy (weaker than jean) and also telekinesis(=>than jean) this fight would be close. With phoenix force Jean is obv stronger. But don't forget about chaos magic. Both are kinda equal the winner would be the one with more control/knowledge(Wanda) In comics the debate is really complex and stuff but in LA Jean is no match to Wanda. She was not even able to defeat vuk. She had to sacrifice herself to overpower her.

TBH the Phoenix was created by Cockrum for Storm but other writer preferred it went to a weaker member (because Storm was already the most powerful female in Marvel with She-Hulk being the most physically powerful female) so they held Storm back on Earth while Jean received the blessing. It was not always with her them Fox movies ruined y’all🤦🏾‍♂️! Jean is one of the two most powerful mutants in existence along side Storm. Storm can lift the ground and objects that are and are not magnetic with her aerokinetic abilities, suppress the powers of others by manipulating the electrical impulses of the prefrontal cortex. This is also how she causes seizures and read body movements before the body can make a move (like reading thought patterns). Marvel Girl is powerful but only with the Phoenix Force as far as basic Wanda…basic Marvel Girl will probably win 6/10. Magneto is far powerful than Jean as she couldn’t do anything against his powers, like when he wrapped her up in metal, she couldn’t break free. That Phoenix upgrade was well needed
