He is my fav character alongside erwin,because he is so "human" . He is talented but not as Levi nor mikasa , he is intelligent but not as erwin , zeke nor armin. His motivations were always selfish but still he let them aside and chose the good for humanity. He did some bad things (like killing) but still his intentions were never bad.. he is truly a human to look up to , because he is in a realistic level that we can reach .. and as Isayama said:" he is a representative of humanity"

True. Had it not been for Marco, Jean likely would have remained an immature, self-serving jerk. But Marco was the first person to see through his tough guy act and call him on it, to see who he was at his core. Even when Jean talked trash, Marco knew it was coming from a good, very "human" place. Marco saw the real Jean, the one that even Jean didn't know was there. People often say that Marco shouldn't have been killed off, that there was no real purpose, but by him being gone, Jean was allowed to grow as a person and work towards and serve something bigger than himself.

Agree with marco. What makes jean a good leader is because he’s not the strongest or present himself to be one. He relates to everybody’s fear and weakness. Best character development, his inner beliefs and moral has been tested so many times yet he always sides with humanity. He always shows himself as someone selfish but ends up making sefless decisions every single time.

Also he is one of the most relatable characters of the show. *spoiler* in the last season when we see him in the forest, hiding and dreaming about the life he want we actually saw the weak side of the jean and how this mess effects him. This soldier life ruins him but he keeps fighting, after that scene we saw him coming back and making the right decisions. He is fighting with the titans and his devils at the same time

There is one more scene in AOT with Jean that I really like. It's when there was a fight with Annie inside the city, and the police saw a titan that close for the first time. And while running to the fight scene ready to fight, Jean looked at the military police guys standing shocked on the building roofs and said something like how silly of him it had been wishing to join those guys. He acted so cool comparing to them back then.
