Levi is cool as hell in general, but I have two more reasons to appreciate him as a character. He defies stereotypes on what it means to be a man. He's short, and is a clean-freak. Since AoT is mostly marketed for teenage boys, it must be nice for them to have a role model who isn't like every other "stoic badass" in every shonen series. In a series like this, where everybody but a select few are *tall and buff,* Levi stands out and is loved all the same by everybody.

XD As for this anime, just look at everybody! Even the girls are taller than 5'5" and have six-packs, along with prettyboy Armin--and you never get to see either in shonen. It's incredible, but it makes Levi stand out even more--since he's one of the shortest characters while still being an older male. But he is deadlier than the rest, and I really appreciate that.
