A note about your concern of the sound quality of this video. When this concert was aired in '88 a friend of mine recorded it in a standard mono VHS recorder. Although I made a copy using my dad's hifi VHS recorder that year nothing was at hand to improve the sound quality. Before uploading to KZbin I took the time to remove the hiss and to improve the equalization a bit. I would have chosen to keep this tape stored but decided to share this rare treasure with those the music belongs to: the audience. I was there and it was thrilling to see the masters play live for the very first time. Let the music talk.

Rayford Griffing un maestro. Estuve en el estadio Chile, lugar donde dió su primer concierto en Chile y ahora en el Caupolican. Ponty tiene su público fiel que lo va a ver siempre. Me gustó ver a padres e hijos disfrutar de su musica.

I saw this tour in Indiana at the Holiday Star Theater the night before Thanksgiving on a cold snowy night. Hard to believe it's been almost 30 years. I met JLP, Jamie and Rayford's family and parents on a very memorable evening. Good stuff...

This is the best 'live' version of this song. It never sounded right with the other bands. Kudos guys, ...again, my favorite Jean Luc band ever put together. Fortunately I was able to see them a couple times :)

Brings back memories. One of my favorite jazz violinists was pushing the boundaries at the time. Got to love that Synclavier thrown into the mix for a nice 80s sound! JLP also one of the kindest musicians I have ever met. Thanks for sharing this with the world!

Lo vi en Concepcion.Son todos unos musicos de exepcion.Glaser fenomeno con su guitarra.No se si alguien comparte mi impresion,pero aparte de alguna publicidad radial y el canal LA RED la cobertura de su visita a Chile es muy baja.Yo creo que si programara 2 conciertos seguidos en cualquier ciudad en las que estuvo, llena.eso es como mi deseo muy personal.

@metzilla Actually bro, this is the band we saw on "The Gift of Time" tour in 1988 at the Michigan Theatre. In 1985 with the "Fables" tour Sonny Emory was on drums. Because they mentioned that he was only 19 at the time!!! OMG!!!
