The amazing thing is how he managed to understand how to control understeering. Underssteering is notoriously the worst thing you can have while driving fast, but not for him. He managed to make it a resource. Incredible. Possibly the only driver in the world that could do that.

A really agressive setup, loose on the rear, especially on braking. Wide steering wheel, for driving with low steering input and lots of throttle/brake balance. A setup that works just on this type of drivers.

Alors oui,Jeannot vivait,vibrait pour le rallye,le spectacle et les spectateurs,avec des temps de ouf(Attention,j'emploi le passé pour sa carrière) mais il est vrai qu'à 51 ans en 1996 (né en 1945) les jeunes loups son derrières et les constructeurs ne font pas dans l'affectif. Malgré tout,si il prenait maintenant une auto style "Clio R3 Max" l'équivalent de la Clio Maxi (en temps à quelque chose près) et malgré les années,notre Jeannot national en endormirait plus d'un et j'en suis persuadé.

Je suis bien d'accord avec toi... Et les pilotes étaient de vrai pilotes,non pas qu'ils ne le soient plus maintenant mais pour avoir fait bcp de rallyes,l'ambiance était la et à l'époque les paddocks étaient presque (je dis bien presque) accessible,une époque révolu...et c'est bien dommage (je parle du WRC et du Championnat de France)...

@CalifaVI estoy muy de acuerdo en lo de Jaime Alguersuari. Sin embargo, no lo veo así en el caso de Ragnotti. Los apoyos no le han faltado, quedarse toda su vida corriendo con Renault fue decisión suya. Además, en aquellos tiempos los apoyos no faltaban como ahora pero la competencia era extrema. Ragnotti iba bien en asfalto (y todas sus variantes: con gravilla, lloviendo... pero en tierra no estaba a la altura. Y eso a nivel mundial es un fallo que no se puede permitir un mundialista. @pepsicolil Bueno,supongo que debe haber opiniones de todo tipo.En el campeonato del mundo de motociclismo también estaba Garry Mc Coy que se podría decir que era el Ragnotti de las motos.Yo creo que se dedicaban mas a dar espectáculo que a otra cosa,pero creo que con mas apoyos a nivel de equipo,y con máquinas y equipos oficiales podrian ambos haber hecho mas,pero claro,el problema es que hay mucha gente por ahí muy muy válida para conseguir metas muy importantes.Saludos y Feliz 2012.

@sisipopeye Je suis d'accord avec toi,pour ce qui concerne le Championnat du Monde,Loeb est certainement le meilleur mais en face il n'y a pas la même concurrence,dans les années 80' 90' et début (tout début) 2000,là,presque tout les pilotes pouvaient êtres Champions du Monde,maintenant c'est loin d'être le cas.Preuve en est avec Seb Ogier qui se retrouve limite en S2000 alors que l'année dernière il aurait pu être champion. Maintenant + qu'hier c'est le "pognon" qui gère,le reste on s'en fout.
