Man! She was so beautiful I wanted to look like her too..I was only about thirteen when she first came to my attention and she was plastered through every seventeen magazine I had. We would practice making our eyes up like hers with that old black liquid eyeliner in a bottle . She was great at selling makeup --- I can recall looking specifically for what she was advertising ---- how else was I gonna be able to look just like her right?....seems centuries ago.

The world was such a smaller place back then. It blows my mind that many times the panel successfully guessed who the Mystery Guest was by simply figuring out who happened to be in town that particularly week. June 1967: Henry Morgan's altercation / disagreement with Daly happened about 2 months before the infamous July 1967 live broadcast altercation / confrontation with Daly over Morgan's rude interruption of Bennett Cerf's introduction of Daly. After that incident, Morgan never again appeared live on WML Sunday night. Lindstrom and Shimpton (don't hate us because we're beautiful) make this a good night for pretty girls, but grouch Morgan and wolf Cerf take it down a couple of notches.

I was 12 years old in 1967. I thought she was beautiful. I’m first generation American and no, I felt no need to see my face or skin color in the models I saw in magazines. As I got older I worked at Woolworth and was able to buy my clothes, shoes and handbags similar to what I saw in Glamour. I copied the hair and makeup. No triggers or trauma.
