Although both arrangements are rather wonderful, my original preference was for the mixed chorus version. I think, however, I now tend to lean more towards the one with male chorus. The BIS recordings of Sibelius represent a magnificently curated and comprehensive (as near as possible) collection of the composer's output. A rarity such as "The Captive Queen" is just one of many lesser-known highlights from that series.
