Dwight, I can really relate to how you feel about not having a championship parade. I was the first in my entire family's lineage to graduate from a university in the U.S. as a first-generation American in 2020. Sadly, my graduation ceremony was also taken away from me. I was waiting for that day my entire life for my mother and grandmother to see my accomplishment with their own eyes. So I understand how you feel, but that will never take away from you being an NBA champion 🏆 🏀🫵🙂

I can’t lie - I was disappointed when this clip began and as it continued because it felt like Dwight was complaining too much. But he wrapped it up eloquently towards the end. I gained an understanding of why he needed to vocalize his anger and pain. I hope he can find some peace after this. Respect.

Props to Dwight Howard for playing through a back injury like that. It reminds me of the end of Larry Bird's career. He couldn't touch his toes, couldn't sit on the bench either as he had to lay down courtside when he was out of the game. He had to have staff help him get dressed for games. He would be in a back brace for hours every day before games and even had to be hospitalized a couple times, and put in traction overnight just to play the game the next day. He played the last 2 seasons and the Dream Team like that. The crazy thing is he still averaged 20pts 10 boards and 7 dimes over the last 2 years and made an all-star team playing like that. I have a new respect for Howard for enduring that

The 2020 Lakers would've stayed together and MAYBE won 1 more, ya forget Dwight and Rondo and to an extent Javale McGee were all past their prime playing on fumes. 2020 Lakers biggest free agency lost was David Caruso who was still young and a energy guy. They should've kept Rondo imo

They didn’t want to delegitimize the Covid ring. Kobe died that year. Lebron needed another ring. The league threw that bubble together and granted they won. But they knew given a normal season they likely weren’t winning. Getting rid of Howard/McGee/ Rondo was not the make or break repeat. They got Schröder who gave them 15/6, Drummond who gave them 12/10 on 53% fg to replace those guys. They knew the next year teams would be ready to play and if they sucked like they did the very next year and bounced in the first round. People would easily be able to say that ring was not legit. They hedged their bets
