I can’t grab with my left hand so I use an overhook from guard often but mainly to give my grip a rest. This is perfect for me, thank you.

Jean Jacques é, pra mim, um dos maiores de todos os tempos, inclusive como professor e ser humano.

Remembered JJ had an overhook, underhook system. Watched so I can give my grips a rest. Didn’t disappoint.

The way to get to the overhook is priceless. I had never seen it taught this way. And it blends so well with other transitions (same as transition to scissor sweep, to open guard with knee inside the arm shown in one of your last videos, etc.). This is gold, will start implementing right away! Thanks for sharing, great work!

Haha once again training 12+ years and mind blown by subtle differences in technique that make all the difference. Love this channel! Thank you :)

The overbook position from bottom guard has been my favorite and go-to guard position since white belt. Gonna work on cutting that angle instead of being square.

Mine aswell. Always struggle to not be square but now i see you can sweep with that buterfly hook.

I love lasso and spider (6'6" 205) but butterfly/overhook has become my jam. Way more control with far fewer variables to manage. One detail I like is trying to get a thumb down grip on the far lapel with your overhook hand. It's harder to get, but once it's on it doesn't come off until you decide.
