Jean Jacques should be in the ADCC hall of fame. I couldnt believe he wasnt inducted at the ceremony where Renzo, Royler, Marcelo, and others were inducted. I messaged Mo about how he absolutely deserves it. JJ was the first in ADCC to submit all his opponents to win his division, also came within an inch of winning absolute-- watching him vs Arona in the finals, he was more technical and actually had multiple legit sub attempts. I ask anyone watching this who has Mo's ear to mention to him. JJ Machado is an ADCC legend.

Can he still get inducted? Hoping he does.

@@NinjaDad724 I dont see why not, its up to the ADCC brass.

JJM is undeniable. ADCC not inducting him says more about them than it does him.

@@Andrew-cs1td Agree. Its what I was thinking as well-- he was maybe snubbed on purpose for some reason. Not a good reason though. There is no good reason.

It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen certain techniques. When I see it done by one of the great’s it’s always amazing to me.

This is the sort of knowledge that takes years on the mat to decipher and systemise. So to have that knowledge and pass it on so fluidly and effectively is pure gold. Obrigado, JJ 🙇♂️

Watching BJJ clips on Facebook or KZbin, I see a bunch of breaks and snaps from people going too hard. It puts me off training sometimes. JJM has such a calm and intelligent but also somehow simple approach that it gives me hope in BJJ again

This is the real art of BJJ. The pops, breaks, snaps, jerks are really the athletic/competitive part of BJJ. You want to learn the real art in its most refined form, you watch the old masters-- the Machados, Rickson, Renzo, Carlson Jr., Pedro Sauer, Fabio Gurgel, Murilo Bustamante, Allan Goes in particular have some of the best teachings of the art in the gi IMO. Bernardo Farias channels is excellent as he often has many different masters showing all kinds of techniques. There are others, for sure, but those are just some of my personal favorites.
