I loved The Thirteenth Tale too! When I reread it this year I noticed how many similarities it has to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo too! Maybe that was just because I read them back to back...

Thank you for creating your own list and not just telling us what is being published this fall or reciting a Prize List. Don’t know if these are available in the UK, but since you seem to enjoy creepy stuff with a twist... Silvia Moreno-Garcia / Certain Dark Things is an excellent reimagined vampire tale with Aztec cultural references. Stephen Graham Jones / Mongrels reworks werewolf traditions in the context of a coming of age tale. Jones is a wonderful writer and Native American Indian, but no feathers and leather here.

I so love Vivian Shaw's Dr. Greta Helsing series. They aren't very well known here on this side of the pond. I've managed to get the first two books through my library's e-book lending program, but I'm waiting for them to purchase the third book. I think there has to be multipe requests before it happens.

I read The Furies a few days ago, and I hated the ending so much. Everything else was great, but those last like 70 pages are.... ugh
