This is why I never go purely based on ratings if I can help it! I've seen so much about Catherine House that is negative but it sounds really interesting to me! I need to add it to my TBR and give it a go!

It was fantastic, and perfect for reading while we read Percy Jackson. My son got excited when he recognized all the references and characters in Percy Jackson because he learned about them from your book.

i really enjoyed catherine house so im glad that you liked it! it seems like a lot of people disliked it because the main character is so detached, but personally i think that made a lot of sense for her. i found it very interesting to read a story where the main character isn't really perceiving what's happening and connecting the dots while you as a reader are able to do so! ✨the drowning eyes is also very good in my opinion, like it feels like a glimpse into a very interesting world!

Love your frog mug at the beginning! I enjoyed Catherine House. It was definitely my kind of weird in books 😅. As a lifelong people watcher, I felt like I was just a fly on the wall observing these characters and loved it.

Catherine House sounds very interesting, I really enjoy Shirley Jacksons writing as well as Helen Oyeyemi and am interested in dark academia as a genre, having just read Madam which I thought was a bit predictable, so I am definitely going to pick that one up! After reading The Silence of the Girls I have picked up The Iliad so I can read the original story which I am very excited to do so before reading The Women of Troy!

I LOVE Shirley Jackson and Helen Oyeyemi - I also have Madam on my to read list but will try not to let the hype get to me too much before I read it aha. I think The Iliad is definitely a good one to compare to Silence of the Girls and I cannot wait for Barker's second book!

I was initially really interested in reading Catherine House. Then after hearing so many negative reviews, I removed it from my wish list. I'm definitely going to pick it up now though. Also, I love your frog mug! 🐸
