I enjoyed the Sanatorium too, I absolutely tore through it while staying in a cabin in Snowdonia which made it all very chilling. It was a great reading experience, I loved the remote setting and the extra complication of the terrible weather. I wonder if it will develop into a series so we can see what happens next for Elin, either way I cant wait to see what Sarah Pearse writes next, I’ll definitely be picking it up

American Housewife has been sitting on my shelves for ages….I really need to pick it up soon. Unrelated to this video, I finished Radiance today and I loved it so much. What a great recommendation!

I need to stop reading Goodreads reviews before I read a book. I have an ARC for “The Women’s March: A Novel of the 1913 Woman Suffrage Procession”. I skimmed through the reviews and a few too many said that it reads like a textbook. Not what I want in Historical Fiction. I feel obligated to read and review it though since it’s an advanced copy. I just hope that I enjoy it more than most of the reviewers. On another note, I have requested “The Sanatorium” from my library. It sounds like something I would enjoy.

I'm excited that you're reading it now! I commented a couple months ago on it. At the time I forgot to say that I love all novels with snowstorms in😊It's really creepy at times but hard to figure out who the culprit is👍 A bit too long still a good read. It's a debut novel so you have to take that into account. Probably a follow up to that book considering the end.

I'm on the waiting list at my library for The Sanatorium. I'm really looking forward to reading it. I just read The Van Apfel Girls are Gone recently. I thought it was wonderful. Definite 5 star read for me. I'm going to do a book review video on it because I loved it so much! 😀

I try not to be affected by ratings because so often I really love books that get 3 star ratings, because they are quirky and not everyone's cuppa tea. But I do tend to add higher rated books to my TBR more often, so it's hard not to be influenced.

If you like books about mental institution in the 1970( as opposed to early 1900). I recommend women on the edge of time. It's a feminist utopian sci-fi written in 1976 Edit: please spoilers for the sanatorium
