The Sun Fast 37, as the name suggests is the faster racing version of the Sun Odyssey with a deeper lead keel and taller keel stepped mast, however shares the same interior 3-cabin layout. Jeanneau designers aimed to enhance performance with the Sun ‘Fast’ version of this very popular cruiser/racer an this model has often been compared to the Beneteau First 36.7 cruiser/racer.
‘Sunstar’ was launched in the Mediterranean and was part of a sailing school fleet for six years before being shipped to Australia to be re-sold to her current owners. Since then, the young family have enjoyed several years with Sunstar spending significant time aboard cruising the South coast of Australia.
The yacht has been exceptionally well maintained and the result is a comprehensive yacht package for its new owner. Her rigging was replaced in 2015 along with significant other upgrades both on deck and below. Her main was fitted new in 2017 and has 3 reefing points for someone wanting to go offshore and she is well equipped with storm sails, symmetric spinnaker and a mylar racing #1.
Her electronics package offers Foruno radar, Raymarine instruments with a new Tack Tick wireless wind, Raymarine autopilot with a recently upgraded Lowrance VHF with AIS receiver, Brookhouse multiplexor with wifi (2016) for all NMEA data streams to tablet over wifi.
Below decks her original fit-out is still in great condition with warm timber tones and comfortable seating around the table- which drops to offer additional berths with accommodation for 9 in total.
Power supply is ample through 3 new solar panels mounted on the dodger and coachroof and all 4 batteries were replaced new in 2015.
Sunstar would suit anyone wanting to race competitively at Club level and she is also exceptionally well set up for extended cruising for either a couple of small family. She is available for inspection now and offers exceptional value for her new owner.
