Written by Merle Haggard and Bonnie Owens, "Today I Started Loving You Again" was a charted Billboard single for Kenny Rogers & The First Edition (No. 69 in 1973), Sammi Smith (No. 9 in 1975), Arthur Prysock (No. 74 in 1979), and Emmylou Harris (No. 43 in 1986). Merle Haggard first recorded it as a B-side to his number 1 hit, "The Legend of Bonnie and Clyde", but it failed to chart. It also appears on his 1968 album, "The Legend of Bonnie & Clyde."
